Over 12 hours after an announced ceasefire in the conflict with Iran, whatever is left of the regime is already blatantly violating it.
Israel faced multiple missile barrages in the hours following, despite being confirmed as part of the deal. Various Gulf nations also found themselves under attack, with Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain all reporting missile and drone strikes on their territory from Iran.
Here's Fox News reporter Trey Yingst, who is based in the Middle East.
Ceasefire day 1:
Israel took multiple waves of Iranian missile fire after the ceasefire was announced. Kuwait reports that more than two dozens drones were launched by Iran since 8am. UAE is currently under an Iranian missile attack. Iran, via state media, reports strikes...
Regarding that last note, Lavan Island is Iranian territory. Whether any actual attacks on the oil infrastructure there occurred is unknown, and that hasn't been reported anywhere else. The Iranian state media making those claims could simply be a cover to justify their breaking of the ceasefire.
Several points come to mind here. One, while you could excuse a few stray missiles and drones in the immediate aftermath of the announced ceasefire, at some point, a ceasefire has to actually mean something. I think that point was well before the UAE came under yet another barrage today. Yes, it takes time to get the word out to underlings, but it doesn't take half a day.
Two, there may be an attempt to claim that the Gulf nations aren't privy to the ceasefire, but that would be an insane position for Iran to take. The regime has repeatedly claimed its attacks on those countries are only a result of American operations originating from there. Well, those operations have stopped, so what's the excuse now? Still, we know Israel is party to the ceasefire, so none of this makes much sense.
With that said, it's possible the Iranian regime is so splintered that the political elements who agreed to whatever this agreement turns out to be don't have the ability to call the military off. I tend to think that's less likely, though. If you were the Iranian regime and thought you could have your cake and eat it too, getting the benefits of a deal while still launching attacks under the guise of not being responsible, wouldn't you do so? If they can get away with playing both sides, they'll happily do it. Subversion is at their core.
So what happens now? Probably not much, at least not immediately. I've been following Trump long enough to know he's going to want to do everything he can to preserve some semblance of this ceasefire, and he tends to become very forgiving in these scenarios. Whether he should be will be a hotly debated point of contention. For my money? I wouldn't bet on any of this deal turning out well. The Iranians aren't going to suddenly become benevolent business partners in the Middle East, and right now, they think they've just won a major victory.

Israel bombed Lebanon with 100 strikes in 10 minutes. Iran has insisted that Lebanon is covered by the cease-fire, while the United States and Israel have said it is not.
Full text of Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announcing the agreement mediated by Pakistan. "I am pleased to announce that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, along with their allies, have agreed...."

Iran oil refineries on Lavan island were attacked. Iran claimed the attack was conducted by Mirage 2000-9 fighter jets operated by the United Arab Emirates. Iran responded to the attack, and closed the Strait of Hormuz to all traffic.
There is no written agreement to a ceasefire. With Israel and the United States claiming the oral agreement does not include Lebanon, the mediator and Iran disagree with Israel and the United States over what was said. At best, there was no agreement at all.
Trumps quotes since the war began:
Then came Apr 7: TACO Tuesday.
Apr 7: Israel also agreed to the ceasefire, the White House said. As Trump announced he was suspending his plans to escalate attacks across Iran, the US president said he had received a 10-point proposal from Iran which was a workable basis on which to negotiate.
Apr 8: When asked by PBS if he was OK with Israel continuing to hit Lebanon, Trump said, its part of the deal. Everyone knows that, he said. Thats a separate skirmish.

Netanyahu adviser says attacks on Hezbollah will continue after Trump call to scale back.
2:22 "Remember, they've been conquered and they have no military. That's the impression, the assessment of President Trump. Now, despite those claims from President Trump, Iran continues to exert its authority over the Strait of Hormuz."
There is no ceasefire deal.

Not really arguing with you there, nc...however, if this peace negotiation actually goes on as planned, and the Veep-led delegation actually meets with an Iranian delegation tomorrow, I think it is a huge step in the right direction.
BTW...good compilation of a number of events that led America to this place (AI?). It took a powerful President to pull off this historic victory that has led us to the doorstep of "Peace in the Mideast." We've endured about 50 years of POTUS's too gutless to take on the Islamofascist Terrorists who have brutally enslaved the once-proud Persian people in Iran, while terrorizing much of the planet, including the Great Satan (U.S.).

I don't think that was AI. I extracted the bulk from the lengthy article linked below and supplemented it with a few things from the past couple of days to bring it up to date.

The USN had minesweepers until the Trump administration decommissioned them last year. It now has zero minesweepers. They were special made with a wooden hull for minesweeping.
Now they have the steel-hulled Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), also known as Little Crappy Ship. It cannot safely enter a minefield . There is no U.S. ship in the Strait of Hormuz. It can deploy autonomous drones which can search for mines. Dunno how close the LCS has to be to the drones, but the other ships are about 700 miles out to keep from being hit by Iranian missiles and drones.
The paper blockade can't be locked up tight. We do not have enough ships there for that, and they are too far away.
Truth be told, we have not opened the Strait because we have no way to do it.
