Are the Best Years of My Country Behind Me?

I turn 60 this year. My health is generally good, though I have aches and pains from a form of arthritis. I’m not optimistic enough to believe that the best years of my life are ahead of me, nor so pessimistic as to assume that the best years are behind me. But I do know this, however sad it may be to say: the best years of my country are behind me.

Indeed, there are all too many signs of America’s decline, ranging from mass shootings to mass incarceration to mass hysteria about voter fraud and “stolen” elections to massive Pentagon and police budgets. But let me focus on just one sign of all-American madness that speaks to me in a particularly explosive fashion: this country’s embrace of the “modernization” of its nuclear arsenal at a price tag of at least $2 trillion over the next 30 years or so — and that staggering sum pales in comparison to the price the world would pay if those “modernized” weapons were ever used.

We have to modernize the nuclear arsenal. Putin has been rattling his nukes because he is losing in Ukraine. It hasn't worked: we're still going to supply the Ukrainians who are still going to beat the Russians, but the fact that Putin rattles the nuclear saber means that we have to be able to counter him, and that means very modern weapons, so that we can either pre-empt the Russians, if necessary. Or, if they launch, so we can wipe them completely out of the existence.

When you talk about the Ukrainians "beating" the Russians, how is that defined? The longer this goes on, the worse it is for Russians, Ukrainians, and American interests. I have long been a Reagan Conservative "Peace thru Strength" advocate, but what I am seeing from the Bidenistas and assorted NeoCons looks like never-ending meaningless conflicts forever and evermore. I prefer to keep our powder dry so as to better prepare to deal with the ongoing Chi-Com Menace.

What is means is that the Russians are driven out of the areas they have occupied, including the Crimea, back to their own borders.

That's a big ask...do we believe the Ukrainians can accomplish this-- especially to return of Crimea to Ukrainian control--without NATO boots on the ground? I have my doubts...MUD

All the players in this bloody drama are Jews (or are they actually of the synagogue of Satan mentioned in Rev.3?) Zelensky, Nuland, Prigozhin, the WEF, etc. etc.

They need their messiah and will stop at nothing to get him, even to the point of faking a gog/magog war.

What's your angle in all this Vic? You have a blood lust to see some Russians killed. Are the Russian Slavs, like the Ukrainian Slavs, sitting on some real estate you want? Has the Vilna Gaon prophecy been fulfilled suffeciently that the Russians may now leave, and perhaps strike south towards "the city of Constantinople"?

I see Russians as orcs, Ukrainians defending their land. I don’t see Jews, as Jews, as having anything to do with it. Zelenskyy is Jewish? Maybe a secular Jew. Uninteresting to me. Jews are not special people. They’re just an ethnicity, and most people in Eastern Europe are part Jewish, thanks to history.

The whole thing is a meat grinder...designed to get soldiers killed. Tactically, none of their movements make sense, unless the plan is to decimate the young fighting men on both sides.
