The consensus amongst the pundits is that, while the Red Tsunami will result in a solid GOP majority in the House, the Senate control will be determined by a seat or two, and the best the Republicans can hope for is maybe a 51-49 advantage. OTOH, Newt Gingrich is forecasting a 5-7 seat GOP pickup in the Senate. To do that, almost everything would have to break Right; however, I will not be surprised to find out the political winds out there in Flyover Country are blowing far closer to Newt's projection than the RAT- mediaz propagandists.
