On todays show we discuss how the media is hyping Hurricane Dorian and how that is not news. Joe Biden tried to exploit it as proof of climate change when it was at its strongest, then the storm weakened. Bernie Sanders thinks people who dont believe in climate change shouldnt be in Congress, while liberals exploit a 16-year-old girl to advance their agenda. Chris Hayes has a 16-year-olds understanding of the Constitution, and Elizabeth Warren promises free stuff to the masses, if only theyd vote for her.
Hurricane Dorian was supposed to destroy Florida. Youd get that impression if you watched cable news over the last five days. Now it looks like it wont. Warning people about a coming hurricane is important, but hyping it for ratings is not news. Yet cable went wall-to-wall with coverage of something that might happen, and now looks like it wont.
Democrats running for president saw an opportunity to hype climate change behind Dorian, blaming the storms strength on it. But history tells a different story, as does the storms weakening. Will they walk back their claims now that they arent panning out? Of course not. We get into all of it.
MSNBCs Chris Hayes demonstrated his third grade level of understanding of the Constitution and American history on his show the other day when trying to make the case that the Electoral College should be abolished. We have the audio and the history he either doesnt know or hopes his audience doesnt.
Elizabeth Warren has a plan to pay for free college, preschool, day care, and nearly ever other progressive dream while still having a couple of hundred billion left over. We play her promise and explain why its all a fraud.

Anyone who espouses support for the junk science theory favoring Global Warming is a communist who wants to take over the government and run it the way the Soviet Union, Cuba, Nicaragua, Zimbabwe and the rest of the tin-horn dictator shitholes are operated. A believer in Global Warming would stab you in the back!!
Every member of Congress who believes this garbage should be dragged out of their plush offices and tossed into the gutter, or the Potomac!

Didn't the MSM also spend 5 days on Trump's Sharpie map? Like a dog with a bone, they just couldn't let go.
So what if Trump said Dorian might hit Atlanta? Geez Louise. The MSM was telling us it was going to wipe out the east coast of Florida and that didn't happen.

Maybe you could make it sound terrible if you tried.
Warmer eras have been better for the ecology of the planet and the wildlife in previous eras.
We are seeing fewer huger hurricanes making landfall in recent years, nothing like some of those like Katrina or the big Florida hurricanes 10-20 years ago. It may just be the usual variation in weather though, not climate. And we have also been at record lows in sunspot activity.
I think there is a small but real potential for much cooler weather in coming decades. The earth is not so fragile as the climate alarmists would try to persuade us to believe.

People have poor memories. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, London was known for it's "pea soup" fog and cloudiness, thanks to all of that coal being burnt. Today, the skies of London are blue again.
When I grew up in Detroit in the 1960s, the skies were grey all the time, as the factories belched out smoke to produce the cars, steel, railroad engines, chemicals and every other thing that made America able to build itself up. The car plants have largely shuttered now, and the ones that remain are much cleaner, and the skies of Detroit are often blue again, the grey pall that used to simply be "Detroit weather" all the time is gone. Lake Erie used to be "dead" - that's what everybody said. Today, right downriver from Detroit you can swim in it, and eat fish out of it. The "dead" lake resurrected itself. Is it as clean as it was in 1700? No. But's it's cleaner than it was in 1960.
Similarly, today in Eastern China, they have "Detroit weather" and "London fog". The sun is a disk obscured by the clouds for days and weeks at a time. China will eventually have blue skies again, and not because somebody throws an "All Back Full" bell on their economic engine. They'll go through the dirty phase, build the machines to put everybody to work, and then build cleaner and cleaner replacements. It'll take 50 years, like it did in Detroit - maybe less time because we know how to do it now. And in that time, no, the ice caps will not all melt, the coasts will not be drowned. There will be pollution, people will get sick from it for awhile, and their grandchildren will live in a Chinese world that is cleaner than today. Ditto for India. Ditto for Brazil, and parts of Africa one does not even imagine now.
That doesn't mean that we should not strive to make things cleaner. It DOES mean that all of the breathless hyperventilating about how we're ALL GONNA DIE IF WE DON'T X, Y and Z is just nonsense. We're not going to do X,Y and Z, and we're all gonna die ANYWAY, no matter what we do. Countries have to industrialize - it's the only way out of the agricultural trap. Then they have to post-industrialize - it's the only way out of the industrial trap. And so on.
These things will each come in turn, and there's no point in fretting over them. Don't push the river, it'll flow by itself.

Yes, the "miasma" that plagued all the early medical journals and textbooks. Until the microscope came along and everything changed and Lister invented Listerine and the standard of surgeons washing their hands and instruments thoroughly in hot water and/or disinfectant before touching their patient.
