Leftist congresswoman Ilhan Omar and her husband – the father of her three children – have split and are heading for their second divorce, DailyMail.com has learned exclusively.

The bust-up comes just as critics are demanding answers as to whether she married her own brother in a successful bid to get him into the United States.

Omar has now dumped her current husband Ahmed Hirsi - who she first married in a religious ceremony in 2002 and divorced in 2008 - and moved into a penthouse apartment in one of Minneapolis's trendiest neighborhoods, DailyMail.com has learned exclusively.

But Hirsi, is also spending time at the apartment, which is in the Mill District sector of Minnesota's largest city, when she is out of town.

'Wow,' said Hirsi, when approached about the split by DailyMail.com outside the complex. 'I can't comment on that.

'I'm sorry, I just can't say anything,' he added before driving off in his BMW car.

Omar did not return calls requesting comment from DailyMail.com by deadline.

Hirsi, 39, had been seen leaving the $2,860-a-month home alone at 7:45am and returning to drop off his mother and his younger daughter nearly three hours later.

'He only goes there when Ilhan is in DC,' one family friend told DailyMail.com. 'When she's in Minneapolis he sleeps at his house.'

Hirsi was noticeably absent when Omar returned to a hero's welcome at Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport last week after being attacked by President Donald Trump.

At the time, he was sitting morosely in a Starbucks coffee shop close to the now-overgrown home that he and Omar shared during their marriage, sources tell DailyMail.com.

She first married Hirsi in an Islamic ceremony in 2002 when she was 19. Six years later, after two children, the couple said they had 'reached an impasse in our life together,' and divorced.

The following year Omar married Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, a British citizen, just two weeks after he entered the United States. He has been identified as her brother by many media outlets, though due to a lack of records in their war-torn country of birth that has not been proven.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune wrote in June that it 'could neither conclusively confirm nor rebut the allegation that (Elmi) is Omar's sibling.' Politifact and another myth-busing website, Snopes, came to similar conclusions.

On their marriage application they gave their address as Columbia Heights, Minnesota, but were married 25 miles away in Eden Prairie at a nondescript single-story brick building that houses a county office and a library.

Despite both being Muslim, the ceremony was conducted by Wilecia Harris, a Christian minister. 'If they had gone to an imam he would have almost certainly have known if they were related,' one Somali leader in Minnesota said.

That marriage lasted just two years but it was enough to allow Elmi to study alongside his new wife at North Dakota State University.

Records suggest that Omar, Elmi and Hirsi all lived together for at least part of that time.

When contacted by DailyMail.com at her home in the Minneapolis suburb of Burnsville, Harris refused to open the door and said through the glass that she would not comment on the ceremony.

Beyond saying the allegation that she had married her brother was 'disgusting,' Omar has refused to discuss the arrangement.

Just this week, DailyMail.com traced Elmi, 34, down to a beach resort in Mombasa, Kenya and photographed him soaking up the sun on the beach.

Omar then had a third child with Hirsi in 2012 and in 2015 she filed a joint tax return with him — even though she was still legally married to Elmi.

She finally divorced Elmi in 2017 and married Hirsi in a civil ceremony the following year.

And now she's going to divorce her original husband and father of her children again?

Omar's story is being seriously challenged.

She applied for a license to marry non-brother HIRSI (a/k/a Ahmed Abdisalan Aden) in 2002, but no license was issued. She claims to have married HIRSI in her faith tradition circa 2002. She claimed the relationship ended circa 2008.

She married ELMI (UK citizen), apparently her brother, in a legal ceremony with a minister, in 2009. She claims to have divorced ELMI in her faith tradition circa 2011.

Omar initiated legal action in 2017 to divorce ELMI. She obtained that divorce in December 2017 or early 2018.

About a month after obtaining the legal divorce from ELMI, Omar legally married HIRSI in early 2018.

Omar filed joint income tax returns with HIRSI while legally married to ELMI. She was legally married to ELMI from 2009 to December 2017 or 2018. It appears all three of them lived in the same house while she and ELMI attended college. The tax filing is established fact and she has been paid federal and state fines for using campaign funds to have the filings corrected. It is also reportedly under investigation by the IRS.

In paperwork for the 2017 divorce, OMAR attested she did not know the whereabouts of ELMI since their seperation in 2011. There are reports of this being false, based on evidence they seperately put on social media. The 2017 divorce may have been fraudulently obtained.

Minnesota is not a common law state and does not recognize common law marriages or divorce in the muslim tradition.

There is no record of any birth certificate for Ilhan Omar. This is attributed to the situation in Somalia when she was born. It appears she may have been born with the family name ELMI, and she and her father assumed the name OMAR when coming to the United States.

The part of her family that settled in the UK kept the name ELMI.

She claims her father became a citizen when she was 17 years old (a minor) and she became a citizen by virtue of his naturalization. She may, or may not, be a lawful citizen.

Ilhan Omar was assertedly born in Mogadishu, Somalia in October 1982. Assuming the birth date of 10/04/1982 is correct, she turned 18 on 10/04/2000, the year her father allegedly obtained citizenship. Her original House of Representatives biography listed her birth date as 10/04/1981. She subsequently had that date corrected or changed without documentation, there being no documentation to present. If the birth date were 10/04/1981, then she would have turned 18 prior to her father's naturalization and would have been ineligible for naturalization through her father's naturalization process, and she would be an alien and not a citizen.

If the name of OMAR was an assumed name, and used for the purpose of evading a proper investigation of the family background in relation to obtaining citizenship, her father's naturalization would have been fraudulently obtained and void or voidable, and Ilhan OMAR's claim to citizenship would be based on a parent's fraudulent obtainment of citizenship.

There are huge stormclouds on the horizon for Ilhan Omar, or Ilhan Elmi, or whatever her name is.

In her 2017 divorce, Omar attested that she had no contact with Elmi after their 2011 separation. Conservative activists say photos and other social media posted by Omar and Elmi on Instagram and Facebook suggest Omar may not be telling the truth. The Star Tribune has been unable to independently obtain the original posts, although images purporting to be screen grabs continue to populate right-leaning media sites such as Power Line Blog, PJ Media and Alpha News. They remain in public view.

One image featured on AlphaNewsMN depicts an Instagram photo purportedly posted by Elmi on June 12, 2012, the day after Omar gave birth to her third child. It shows a close-up picture of Elmi holding a newborn child the website says is Omar’s, based on accompanying text that ostensibly refers to the baby girl as “nieces.”

Over the years Elmi, who attended high school in St. Paul, has had occasional contact over the internet with other friends and acquaintances, including retired Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party activist and Minneapolis city worker Barb Lickness, who lived in the same downtown Minneapolis apartment building with Elmi around 2012, before he moved to London.

She described him as “friendly in a soft way,” and a neighbor who participated enthusiastically in the building’s social scene. She recalls that he was tall, dapper and spoke with a pronounced British accent, indicative of a foreign upbringing. He never mentioned being married, Lickness said.

Lickness confirmed Elmi’s identity in an Instagram photo purportedly posted by Omar showing the two of them and three others posing in London in 2015. The photo is featured on several conservative media websites, but could not be verified by the Star Tribune.

I disagree. She is a threat to the Democrats and she has made an enemy in Nancy Pelosi. The Squad really has only four votes. The vote on impeachment showed who has the power.
