Dear FRiends, Please get your donations in and let's wrap this baby up. [FReepathon LX] Click here to donate via our new secure link: https://freerepublic.com/donate/ ^ Posted on 3/1/2019, 11:01:46 AM by Jim Robinson

Calling all FReepers: We need your help to keep the lights on. Please donate today if you can.

Wouldn't it be great if we reach the yellow today and then wrap it up within a few more days?

FR is funded solely by contributions made by the liberty loving patriots who love and use it.

We are beholden to no political party.

No advertisers, no outsiders, no sugar daddies, no corporate string pullers.

Definitely no government subsidies or tax breaks. No 501c or other IRS non- profit status.

This means no commercial ads. No annoying pop-ups. No ad tracking. No mail campaigns. No spam. No third-parties -- not even the IRS -- trying to control what we do or say.

We are self-funded, fiercely independent and enjoy our freedom to speak plainly in the support of God, family, country, liberty!!

But we cannot exist without you.

Every donation counts no matter how big or small. If you can donate $5, $10, $20, $100 or more, it would be greatly appreciated.

Your loyal support makes Free Republic possible and your continuing participation makes FR the number one pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-small government, pro-defense, pro-America conservative forum on the Net!!

And we're going to need FR now more than ever to combat the current crop of Marxists and progressives who have infested our government and public institutions and who are dead set on destroying the final remnants of our cherished constitution and our precious God-given liberty!!

Please click the secure server link above or donate by mail to:

Free Republic - PO Box 9771 - Fresno, CA 93794

Make it a monthly if you can. We have some very generous FReeper sponsors kicking in an extra ten bucks for every new monthly signed up. And we have signed up 27 new monthly donors so far this quarter!!

Or send in a hundred dollars or more per quarter and join I_be_tc's growing list of 300 Club patriots. I_be_tc sends in $100 per quarter and challenges 300 others to do the same. If we could get 300 FReepers to send in $100 per quarter, these FReepathons would complete much faster. And we have received 177 donations of $100 or more so far this quarter!!

Thank you all very much!!

God bless. Click here to donate via our new secure link: https://freerepublic.com/donate/ ^ Posted on 3/1/2019, 11:01:46 AM by Jim Robinson

Poster Comment:

How do we banned Freepers get to make a contribution? We can't use a link as we've been bad Freepers, one way or the other.

Wonder how much it costs to run a blog site? Probably much overhead is due to the big-headed moderators.

Unbelievable what a scam the FR crapfest really is.

$88,000 for their first quarter fundraising total. If that is consistent, it amounts to $352,000 a year.

For a crappy little text-only message aggregator with dictatorial moderators. The site itself has lousy features and has had almost no real upgrades in a decade or more.

What do Rimjob and JohnRob-Jong-Un spend all that money on? Certainly not for bandwidth, servers, or coding up features to upgrade the site.

Free Republic, LLC is a non-commercial, limited liability company founded and operated by Jim Robinson (jimrob@psnw.com), a private citizen of Fresno California.

Free Republic is not a for profit commercial enterprise in the sense of a traditional business selling a product or service at a profit for its shareholders. We sell no product or service. We have no clients, customers or employees. We do not accept paid advertising. Free Republic is not affiliated with any political party, group, news source, government agency or anyone else.

Free Republic is not a traditional business. We are a political discussion forum and independent grassroots conservative activist group supported by donations from our readers and participants. When and if our participants decide we are no longer needed or viable, we will close down shop and go away.

Free Republic operates on an approximate $360,000 annual budget (click for breakdown) which includes all equipment costs, bandwidth fees, consulting and labor costs, administrative costs, license fees, insurance, rents, communications costs, office expenses, advertising, travel, professional fees, banking and credit card fees, taxes, etc. Like most labor intensive organizations, the bulk of our costs are personnel related. We have one general manager and webmaster, one systems, programming and computer guru, one programming and management assistant and one bookkeeper/business administrator. The four of us are all members (partners) of the LLC. We own and operate our own servers and our proprietary software was developed and is maintained inhouse.

Free Republic is not a charity or IRS non-profit organization. We do not raise funds for charitable purposes or causes. We raise funds solely to cover our operating costs, labor, and all applicable state and federal income and payroll taxes.

The budget breakdown is at the link.

Free Republic is not a for profit commercial enterprise in the sense of a traditional business selling a product or service at a profit for its shareholders.

Despite that word salad, Free Republic LLC is not a 501(c)(3) tax exempt company. Donations are not tax deductible. In the sense of legal reality, Free Republic has been judicially determined to be a for profit limited liability company.

B. Defendants' Profit Or Non-Profit Status

The parties dispute whether Free Republic is a for-profit or not-for-profit entity. Despite this purported disagreement, it appears uncontroverted that Free Republic is presently a for-profit limited liability company. Free Republic's corporate counsel is currently preparing documents seeking tax-exempt status for the Free Republic Institute, a company incorporated on September 27, 1999. Nothing has yet been submitted to the IRS, however, and tax-exempt status has not been granted.

Looks like the sheeple will once again have about 2 weeks without the begathon before it starts up again. It's the usual schedule.

Over $350,000 per year and you still can't edit a post to fix a typo.
