DEWEY BEACH, Delaware — Christine Blasey Ford grew up in Washington’s affluent Maryland suburbs, graduated from an expensive all-girls private high school and spent summers immersed in the wild nightlife of this Eastern Shore resort town.

She went on to become a clinical psychology professor at Palo Alto University in California, having earned a psychology degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, master’s degrees at Pepperdine and Stanford, and a Ph.D. in educational psychology at the University of Southern California.

But it was those early days — when she was known as Chrissy Blasey, a student at the Holton-Arms School who ran with students from a network of exclusive tony schools just across the border from the District of Columbia — that have landed her at the center of the most explosive Supreme Court confirmation battle in decades.

[...]

Students from the two schools in Bethesda, Maryland, regularly socialized, and the families in those circles often vacationed on the beaches of Delaware and Maryland — Ms. Blasey Ford among them.

Longtime residents of Dewey Beach, a Delaware resort known in the late 1980s as a place where the college students who worked the other resorts lived and partied, remember her nights waitressing at the Waterfront, a raucous bayside bar.

“Things that would be considered out of hand today was OK back then. Things have changed,” said a man who encountered Ms. Blasey Ford during those years, speaking to The Washington Times on the condition of anonymity. “That was the yuppie period of time, and Dewey Beach was a yuppie town, and weekend warriors were coming down from D.C. It was their Vegas.”

Ms. Blasey Ford was a popular figure on the Dewey Beach bar scene.

She once got caught in a romantic triangle that culminated with the two men getting into a fistfight over her, according to people familiar with the incident.

“She enjoyed the Dewey Beach nightlife,” said another resident speaking on the condition of anonymity. The resident, now a restaurant owner, added that the town was “pretty wild” in those days.

There is nothing in this world more irrelevant than the social life of young people 30 years ago. We're actually going to go through a Senatorial hearing about events at a high school party when Reagan was President.

Ridiculous.

If your client were alleged to have committed attempted rape in high school, and you could show that the accuser was the school slut at the time, you wouldn't use that?

It is highly relevant.

It is ridiculous that this has been brought up in the context of a Senate confirmation, but the credibility of the accuser is always relevant.

Sure I’d use it. Whatever it takes to win. Any port in a storm. That a court - or the US Senate - would let itself be used as a forum to air the grievances of somebody whose claim would be long barred by any rational statute of limitations is outrageous.

The really wild action was during the late 70's when Disco Don and Jimiah Carter were at their peak.

She worked there, so I'll give her a pass.

I'm trying to remember if I've been to Dewey Beach. Rehoboth Beach rings a bell for me as I lived in striking distance many years ago.

The Senate is a political body. What the Dems have done is outrageous, but for political reasons, the Senate must consider the accusation. They cannot say "go away, this is not appropriate." The Dems are fighting dirty in the media. To counter that attack, one must get down in that gutter with them. It would be nice if it were not so, but sometimes it takes the Chicago Way.

I'll give her a pass when she cooperates with the Senate and provides something resembling adequate support for her accusations. I believe that will be never, but we shall see.

In the meantime we shall see this part of the shitshow. Clarence Thomas is still being called a sexual predator. For Kavanaugh and family, this does not end if Ford goes away.

U.S. Marshals Probe Threats Against Kavanaugh Family: ‘F*** YOU AND YOUR RAPIST HUSBAND’

The U.S. Marshals Service is reportedly investigating violent threats sent to the wife of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh after a 36-year-old sexual misconduct allegation was leveled against the judge.

Citing an unnamed, high-ranking Trump official, the Wall Street Journal and CNN report at least four vulgar messages were sent to Ashely Kavanaugh’s work email address. In one instance, Mrs. Kavanaugh was sent an email which reads, “May you, your husband and your kids burn in hell.” Another message states “Hi, Ashley,” you should tell her husband to “put a bullet in his … skull.”

“My condolences to you for being married to a rapist. Although you probably deserve it,” another email read.

On Wednesday, Mrs. Kavanaugh is said to have received a note with the following subject line: “F*** YOU AND YOUR RAPIST HUSBAND.”

Psssst, it's his daughter.

Set up, like a bowling pin.

Busted - down on Bourbon Street
Set up - like a bowling pin
Knocked down - it gets to wearing thin
They just won't let you be

Sounds like she was a bit of a slut back in the day.
