A few weeks ago, no one had heard of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a former bartender with a dream of running for Congress.
But Ocasio-Cortez upset incumbent Rep. Joseph Crowley (D-NY) last month, and since then she's been all over the mainstream media channels. Some political pundits have even begun to say that she's is the new face of the Democratic Party.
And now, the upstart candidate born in 1989 is going to join another candidate born in 1941 on the campaign trail.
"This week, I am traveling to Kansas with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to rally in support of James Thompsons and Brett Welders campaigns for Congress two great progressive candidates who will prove our message can win anywhere," Sen. Bernie Sanders wrote in an email to supporters.
Since both are Socialists, it's a match made in heaven.
Said Sanders in his email:
If Democrats want to win elections up and down the ballot in 2018, 2020 and beyond, we have to run progressive candidates like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez everywhere, even in states Donald Trump and the Republicans won in 2016.
Because the issues Alexandria campaigned on Medicare for all, a $15/hour living wage, free college tuition at public colleges and universities, fighting climate change and promoting racial, social and environmental justice are not just popular in Vermont, Queens and the Bronx, they are popular everywhere. At a time of massive income and wealth inequality, and when real wages for ordinary workers continue to decline, these are the issues working families feel strongly about.
In a statement, Sanders said, All across this country people understand that we need a government that represents all of us, and not just billionaire campaign contributors. We need to raise the minimum wage to a living wage, we need health care for all, we need to make public colleges and universities tuition-free and we need to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure. These are popular ideas in Vermont, in the Bronx, in Kansas and in every state in the country. Candidates who run on a progressive agenda can and will win.
Ocasio-Cortez said, The political revolution is alive and well in Kansas. James Thompson and Brent Welder know that policies like Medicare for All, Tuition-free College and Trade School, and a living wage can win across the country including the Midwest. They have committed the organizing power to show that if Democrats run on a clear, committed platform for working class Americans, while rejecting dark money, we can win. I am proud to join Senator Sanders to let voters in Kansas know they have this option here at home.
And she added on Twitter:
Of course Sanders asked for money. He always does (hey, he's got three houses to pay for not bad for a Socialist).
And keep an eye on Ocasio-Cortez. It's already come out that she didn't exactly live in Brooklyn, as The Daily Wire reported, but chances are once she gets a taste of that Sanders' Socialist money, she'll do what he did and buy a lakefront mansion.
Poster Comment:
The dems have found a ticket as bad as Trump & Pence. That's the D&R party's secret of success.
You get two shitte sandwiches to choose between - they're counting on you to believe that.

The profanation and sacrilegious manner in your descriptive use of our Lord and Savior is an affront to the deeply held beliefs of some 200 million-plus American who see Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

Bernie Sanders on steroids.
Medicare for all. California looked at that and healthcare alone would have consumed twice the entire state's budget.

You were brutally relentless in your continuing condemnations .over and over, again and again. Whereby I was caused to be deeply regretful .horribly shamed. You were so rightfully pious and attacked me by releasing your denunciations with fire and brimstone, castigating me with all the torments of hell. You said how un-Christian that was of me and you caused me to be so deeply remorseful about my grievous wrongdoing. As if I had committed a mortal sin. I am sure you well remember doing ALL of that and the extremely stern and abusive words you used against me. You do remember, Right? You must, because here you are bringing it all up again.
And now .NOW look what you have just gone and done with your posting of that atrocious anti-religious meme in total opposition of the fine Christian ways you showed the light of yourself unto me.
So please, oh dear God, I beg you to please explain to me the meaning of hypocrisy and how your practice of claiming to have moral standards and beliefs for which you once condemned my behavior does not conform to your ways.
Hmmm
You said I posted several images of Jesus flipping the bird on the Ron Paul threads at LP. Nah, come to think of it, I didnt post several. I recall posting only one. And now that you mention it .that really did happen on a Ron Paul thread.
After mulling all of this over and since it did happen on a Ron Paul thread, then I am fully confident the Lord understood and forgave me for doing that since it happened on a Ron Paul thread. Being the most generous and forgiving person that I am, I hereby magnanimously excuse you for now posting your anti-religious meme. But, dont you dare ever do such a thing again .ya hear?
