Yesterday, Ohio Representative and co-founder of the House Freedom Caucus, Jim Jordan, was hit with allegations that he knew about and ignored allegations of sexual assaults perpetrated on members the Ohio State University wrestling team. From 1986 until 1994, while he was going to graduate and law school, Jordan was an assistant coach of the Ohio State wrestling team. In April, Ohio State announced it was investigating a now-deceased team doctor, Richard Strauss, for sexual misconduct with athletes:
Apparently, Dr. Strauss could have inspired an episode from Friends:
Thus far, two former wrestlers have come forward to say that either they were sure that Jordan knew about the hands-on doctor or that he was told about it. The fellow who started the investigation, Mike DiSabato, says he was inspired to come forward by the gymnasts who had been sexually molested by the US Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar. On the merits, I am hyper-skeptical of allegations that take 20+ years to surface simply because you cant defend yourself. And, based on what Ive seen so far, I see no reason to doubt Jordan or, absent the results of an investigation, to even take the allegations as legitimate. Jim Jordan is denying that he either knew or was told about the alleged incidents and Ohio State has yet to complete its investigation. And for all the talk, what is missing is an uproar like that associated with Nassar. Strauss was doctor for the Ohio State athletic program, all of it, not just wrestling, if the allegations are true we can be sure he did more than attempt to ogle a few wrestlers. So far, crickets. And even though questioning the motives of the accusers makes me a very, very bad person, there is this:
There is an unfortunate tendency on our side of the aisle to throw our people to the wolves if there is even an ephemeral chance that the New York Times editorial page will give us a pat on the head. I hope that doesnt happen with Jim Jordan but because he has gained a high profile both in the Freedom Caucus and in investigating FBI and Justice Department abuses during the 2016 election, there is no doubt that hes wearing a huge bulls-eye on his back. Oddly enough, the law firm representing the two complainants in this melodrama is Perkins Coie. That is the same law firm that hired Fusion GPS and Christopher Steele to produce the Trump dossier. |
Is The GOP Going To Throw Jim Jordan Under The Bus Or Will They Defend Him?

There is no way for any of us to know at this time if the claims by the former Ohio State University wrestlers that they were victims of sexual abuse by Ohio State team doctor Richard Strauss or if their claim that Congressman Jim Jordan knew of any abuse during his time as an assistant on the Ohio State wrestling team is true or not.
We only know that the Ohio State University is investigating the allegations of sexual misconduct against its former wrestling team physician, Dr. Richard Strauss. Nowhere has it been shown that Ohio State University is investigating Jim Jordan for any wrong doing.
I sincerely hope the Ohio State University investigation into this matter will show NO fault or wrongdoing by Jim Jordan and absolve him of the malicious charges by the two shady individuals. Jim Jordan has DENIED these charges and I fully BELIEVE him and trust he will be soon exonerated of these accusations. Jim Jordon is an extremely valuable member of Congress, one that we dearly need and cannot afford to lose at this critical time as we continue to Make America Great Again under the superb leadership of President Donald Trump.
I expect the MSM and liberals to try and exploit these ALLEGATIONS to the utmost extent....it is something they always do. I fully support and stand with Jim Jordan on this matter.

I see nothing at all odd about that. If anything it is consistent with the organized plan by the left to take over and control the world.

So much for "grooming" your victim. Hey, maybe he thought he said, "I hurt my bum"?

20+ year old accusations against someone who is deceased. My statute of limitations for caring has expired.

Furthermore, I dont doubt there may be something in the story here and Strauss was probably a pervert based on the fact that OSU is currently investigating. If the charges are true, then I could see a big problem if the boys had been children or young teenagers. But this case involves college boys who traditionally would have been between the ages of 18 and 21.
It was the doctors perversion, if the allegations are true, that drove his inappropriate actions. However, these 18 to 21 year old young MEN ought to have had their asses KICKED for ever letting the doctor inappropriately lay a hand on them. Damn bunch of wussies in this generation....that is the way the liberals are moving this country. And now, for these molested to start whining about it 20 YEARS LATER is shameful. Sad. I see $$$$$ involved ...

That's an excellent point that I overlooked. They were adults. There was no crime here.
18, 19, 20-year-old women get hit on by older men all the time. Are they publicly reporting it 20 years later demanding some sort of closure? Asking why someone didn't come to their aid 20 years ago?
They'd be ridiculed, and rightfully so.

Those gymnasts were children. I think he was inspired to come forward by the women who filed suits against Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein.

You didn't answer the question.
Just pretending to be something you aren't, as usual.
