On his radio show Wednesday evening, LevinTV host Mark Levin cut through the legacy media bluster and broke down the actual terms of the real debate over America’s next Supreme Court justice.

The segment followed news of the long-anticipated announcement of Justice Anthony Kennedy’s retirement earlier in the day. Levin went on to explain the importance of properly understanding the ideologies at play when discussing who will take Kennedy’s place on the bench.

“This is a battle between constitutionalists and statists,” Levin said.

What will happen, as always, Levin explained, is that Democratic politicians will demand that the prospective justice agree with their political agenda, rather than side with the text of the Constitution itself.

“[Constitutionalists] seek to have a Supreme Court that shows fidelity to the Constitution of the United States, the law of the land,” Levin said. “And if these justices do not show fidelity to the Constitution, then why the hell should we show fidelity to their opinions?”

After the segment, Levin tweeted that Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, would make a great replacement.

The president's list of candidates for the Supreme Court is outstanding. That said, I would strongly encourage him to select Sen. Mike Lee. There's no doubt at all that he'd be absolutely faithful to the Constitution. And this is a life-time appointment, after all.

And what will also happen is that Republican politicians will vote to confirm, and there are more Republican senators than Democrat senators. Elections have consequences.

Levin had a good podcast here, detailing how the Left uses the courts to score these policy wins by avoiding having to campaign for them or to cut deals with the GOP.

This confirmation hearing will go the way of the Gorsuch confirmation. The GOP chairs the committee, has the majority in the committee, and has the majority on the floor. The Dems can make noise but do nothing to stop the confirmation process. Trump will have another justice in place for the start of the next session.

Maybe.

What if a GOP senator sells us out, a re-run of Jeffords?

Shocker: Jeff Flake Skips Out on Senate Votes to Meet with the Heads of (Get This) CNN and MSNBC

—Ace of Spades

Gee, wonder what this cuck is talking with them about.

Jeff Flake was absent for a series of senate votes on Monday. Instead, he was in New York meeting privately with the heads of MSNBC and (on Tuesday) CNN.https://t.co/BioybgLi2W— Max Tani (@maxwelltani) June 28, 2018
When @desiderioDC asked Flake if he was meeting with the network heads about a cable news gig, Flake laughed and said "That’s down the road—that’s six months."https://t.co/Bioybh2Trw— Max Tani (@maxwelltani) June 28, 2018

Question: Should a senator be negotiating with would-be left-wing employers just as he's about to cast a vote concerning a very consequential Supreme Court nominee?

Do you think Jeff Flake's would-be employers want him to vote for the pick or against it? Do you think his value as a Polite Company Fake Conservative maybe depends on the goodwill he'll have with left-wing audiences?

Do you think this loathsome cuck has the "integrity" to resist renting out his mouth for money?

Would Flake sell out for some multimillion dollar pundit deal with PMSNBC? Wouldn't surprise me.
