Ten enlisted Navy SEALs and a sailor who supported Navy special warfare are in the process of being administratively discharged from the service for testing positive for cocaine or methamphetamines, USNI News has learned.
The sailors, assigned to East Coast Naval Special Warfare units, failed a series of regular drug screenings over March and April, a spokesperson told USNI News on Thursday.
During a number of command drug tests from March to April 2018, 11 service members from East Coast-based Naval Special Warfare units tested positive for controlled substances, Cmdr. Tamara Lawrence said in a statement. We have a zero-tolerance policy for the use of illicit drugs and as such these individuals will be held accountable for their actions. We are confident in our drug testing procedures and will continue to impress on all members of the command that illicit drugs are incompatible with the SEAL ethos and Naval service.
Its unclear if the incidents are related.
The failure of the drug tests has sparked a Naval Special Warfare Command investigation into the circumstances around the failures.
Since he took command of Naval Special Warfare Command in 2016, commander Rear Adm. Tim Szymanski has been vocal inside the community that bad behavior would not be tolerated in the SEAL community.
In late 2016, East Coast SEALs took an operational pause to address the drug problem in special warfare after several investigations found a spike in usage
I feel like Im watching our foundation, our culture erode in front of our eyes, commander of Naval Special Warfare Group 2 Capt. Jamie Sands said in a closed-door meeting as part of the standdown, according to video obtained by CBS.
He vowed to step up testing for his units at the time.
Were going to test on the road, Sands said in the video. Were going to test on deployment. If you do drugs, if you decide to be that selfish individual, which I dont think anyones going to do after today, I believe that, then you will be caught.
Poster Comment:
One would be bad enough, but TEN! If this is true, there goes the honor!
This situation is concerning, not because of the testing process, but because it is likely a signal of a deeper problem in the SEALS. Time will tell.

Being "Type A+" personalities, there is not a one of them that doesn't want to "answer the bell and step into the ring" when command rings the bell. They are proud of being people who are willing and able to go anywhere at any time and accomplish a successful mission regardless of how difficult it is.
Sometimes some of them will resort to drugs to give them the energy they need or to ease the pain so they can "gear up and go into the breech once again".
Used to be people in this category would get liquored up to ease the stress and the pain, and basically it would be tolerated as long as they could sober up for the mission planning and the mission. Those days are over. Now they use drugs other than the semi-socially approved alcohol, and these days there IS no forgiving from their command.
The root cause of this is they are getting too many missions too close together. They are being ran hard and not given the time to recover.

Yup,and sooner or later, the murder of Hussein by the Bush Crime Family at the urging (and pay off) of the Saud Royal Family will eventually be recognized as one of the most monumental boneheaded screws ups in all of history.
Saddam Hussein and Iraq were responsible for the deaths of more fundie Muslims than every other nation combined. He even allowed Jewish and Christian religious services, and made sure they weren't bothered by having the churches and synagogues guarded by Army regulars.

Bottom of the cultural barrel and digging deeper.
SEALS, God Bless 'em, because an object of worship a while back.
That's generally a symptom Romans chapter 1 covers, along with the due penalty that nature provides in response.

Nah. That's was WIP before the Shrubs started shaking down the tree. Jimmuh and Zbig weaponized Islam when they instigated and funded the Islamic revolution of 1979.
And the Zionists set the stage for the whole cluster frack back before Balfooooor was even a twinkle in Lord Rothschild's arse.
