...NBC analyst Tony Dungy...has come under fire [by anti-Christian fascists] for stating Nick Foles would “play well because his Christian faith would allow him to play with confidence” before the understudy quarterback led Eagles to victory.

Dungy, a Hall of Fame member and former Bucs and Colts head coach, spoke on air during the game about the faith of Foles, who has said he wants to be a pastor for high school students after his career concludes.

Himself an outspoken Christian, Dungy spent much of Tuesday responding to Twitter critics [aka anti-Christian bigots] who don’t see how Foles’ religious beliefs helped him defeat the Patriots.

“NBC pays me to express my opinion,” Dungy replied to one Twitter user. “And it was my opinion that Nick Foles would play well because his Christian faith would allow him to to play with confidence. And that he’s a good QB. I think I was right on both counts.”

Dungy reported that Foles told him God had “a special moment” coming for him and his Eagles, and Dungy felt Sunday validated that. That only led to more backlash, including from those feeling God concerns himself with things bigger than football.

“This was much bigger than the score of a football game,” Dungy wrote. “How many young boys are going to look up to Nick Foles because of what he did in this moment? When they do they’ll see something about LIFE!”

.....

Foles’ belief in God has gained a spotlight since he took over the Eagles, especially because he was considering retiring after the Rams cut him following the 2013 season, but he said prayer turned him back to football.

“It’s on my heart,” Foles told the Associated Press. “I took a leap of faith last year and signed up to take classes at seminary. I wanted to continue to learn and challenge my faith. It’s a challenge because you are writing papers that are biblically correct. You want to impact people’s hearts.”

Amen Tony, and Amen Nick. Awesome.

The Post headline is not exactly truthful. Look under the heading for actual Tweet by Tony Dungy.

Tony Dungy is being attacked for sharing faith in God on Twitter (how DARE HE!!), for sharing his conversation with fellow Christian QB Nick Foles that God spoke TO HIM before the game, and for sharing his opinion/analysis that he thought Nick Foles would play well in the Super Bowl (which he did) because his strong faith "would allow him to play with confidence."

Dungy is also being attacked for exercising his own FREE SPEECH on Twitter, something we know the Left frowns upon.

He also shone the spotlight on his and Nick's personal relationship with Jesus Christ -- THE biggest offense to militant Atheists, homofascists, Occultists, and anti-Christian bigots. They fear the young, the old, the impressionable be influenced and inspired to possibly become Christians as a result of both Dungy and Foles' faith.

It should also be noted that many of the Philadelphia Eagles are stout Christians, as is their coach, Doug Pederson.

FWIW, I did NOT watch the Super Bowl for the first time. EVER. I had watched every single one, including the very first.

I will not watch NFL games until the league and players apologize. If not, then OH WELL. They've lost me forever.

If Dungy mentioned a homosexual player was motivated to win, he would get a raise and be enshrined.

No time for seats and buttered popcorn to observe the Second Coming.

Hear ya.

Suddenly the Satanic, the un-natural, the upside cross is where its at.

Imagine this: Tweeting great things about mini-tranny boys is fine and dandy; But don't tweet about the glory of Jesus, of faith, and sharing THAT. Sharing the good, the holy is now cause for public outrage. These freaks ARE an outrage to everything decent.

The Saints' blood cries for justice...and they shall be vindicated. May not be here BUT...

Yup, the NFL is ruined. Ain't coming back. MLB with its bat-flips and trash-talking glory-hounds will also soon also commit suicide (btw, in the updated Jackie Robinson movie, they showed him flipping his bat after an HR. NEVER HAPPENED. The usual prog revisionist garbage.)

The acceptance and promotion of ghetto-gutter culture in the NFL is really taking its toll, isn't it? As well as the lack of discipline. (For insteance, Coach Belichick was smeared by liberal talking heads for having the audacity of NOT playing CB Butler for violating rules. Since the Pats lost, THAT became TE THE reason. NOT the OTHER 10 guys on D that got gashed for 500+ yards.) As we well know, for libs, rules are meant to be broken.)

All this prancing and posing and selfishness is a YUGE turn-off. rules. Sportsmanship was always a big reason I watched --whether NFL and college; MLB or any other sport....THE TEAM.

Once ESPN started glorifying these "LOOK-AT-ME!" goons (of any color), the Team-Game lost its magic.
