ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (AP) Former President George W. Bush said on Thursday that theres pretty clear evidence that the Russians meddled in the 2016 American presidential election, forcefully rebutting fellow Republican Donald Trumps denials of Moscow trying to affect the vote.
While never mentioning President Trump by name, Bush appeared to be pushing back on Trumps attempts to have warmer relations with Russia, as well as his comments on immigration.
The White House did not immediately comment on Bushs remarks.
Theres pretty clear evidence that the Russians meddled, Bush said at a talk in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Whether they affected the outcome is another question.
Bush also said that its problematic that a foreign nation is involved in our election system. Our democracy is only as good as people trust the results.
U.S. intelligence agencies have concluded Russia meddled in the 2016 election to help Trump win. Numerous investigations are under way to determine whether Trumps campaign aided the Kremlin in its efforts.
Trump has repeatedly denied any collusion with Russia.
Speaking of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Bush called him zero-sum.
Hes got a chip on his shoulder, Bush said of Putin. The reason he does is because of the demise of the Soviet Union troubles him. Therefore, much of his moves (are) to regain Soviet hegemony.
Bush also stressed the need to back NATO and other alliances the U.S. has with the world.
Putin is pushing, constantly pushing, probing weaknesses, the former president said. Thats why NATO is very important.
Bush also criticized Trumps decision to scrap a program implemented by former President Barack Obamas administration that allows young immigrants living in the U.S. illegally who were brought here as children to remain in America.
Americas their home, the 43rd American president said. Theyve got to get it fixed.
Bush acknowledged that he tried to overhaul Americas broken immigration system, but failed.
There are people willing to do jobs that Americans wont do, he said. Americans dont want to pick cotton at 105 degrees (Fahrenheit), but there are people who want put food on their familys tables and are willing to do that. We ought to say thank you and welcome them.
Bush in 2008 became the first sitting U.S. president to visit the UAE. He spoke Thursday at a summit in Abu Dhabi put on by the Milken Institute, an economic think tank based in California.
He made his comments while in a conversation with Michael Milken, known as the king of high-risk junk bonds in the 1980s. Milken pleaded guilty to securities-law violations in 1990 and served 22 months in prison. He agreed in a settlement with the SEC to a lifetime ban from the securities industry and paid a $200 million fine.
Milken, who is a prostate cancer survivor, and his family have given hundreds of millions of dollars away in recent decades. Forbes magazine estimates Milken, 71, is now worth some $3.6 billion.

Once upon a time America was like that.
I worked for an engineering & construction company back circa 1989 that had all kinds of people - libs, conservatives, Rs, Ds, Mormons, Catholics, Lutherans.
Everybody talked about everything and nobody ever got fired unless they weren't performing their job.
Different world today. Snowflakes become predatory when they have sufficient numbers. Conform to the hive-culture, or else.

Ab-so-freakin-lutely spot on! That this bumbling idiotic globalist sock-puppet became President (R) is embarrassing. But hey -- could have also been Jeb ("PLEASE CLAP") Bush as well.
That's a great tagline, btw. Merely 3 years ago it would have gotten you banned at FR. But then you got banned in any case ;-) (Exactly what DID you get banned for??)

I presume he hits the sauce VERY hard (you saw a drunken giddy Dubya being disciplined by a sober Mooch at that funeral, right?) The guy possesses all the gravitas of a George Costanza walking out of a bathroom at a party minus his shirt.

Although, they mostly hire people who won't complain and pay them under the table.
Anyway, the subcontractors won't hire anybody is who likely to complain at all.

Yeah, sounds like the subcontractors need to be held accountable.
My wife grew up on a family farm. Overtime? LOL.
If corporate parasites, their Subcontractors, and their methods of doing bidness are held accountable - the family farming models that won WWII and survived until the 80's might actually become practical again -- Much to the chagrine of the social engineers who milk the city hive like a cash cow.

Well, it appears you you may be still be right about this. There is no standard, as far as I can tell, about wages agricultural laborers have to be paid.
Still, the employees pay no taxes on their earnings.
I had worse jobs when I was a young man. How would these folks like to cut right of ways through snake and insect infested woods? At least in a tobacco field, you don't have a nest of wasps as big as watermelons stinging and chasing you.

Most farmers LOVE Dims because it was and is the Dims who give them all that farm welfare money to not plant crops or cut timber.
A local farmer ran for county commissioner a few years back on a "I am going back on spending because the government gives too much money away!" platform.
He had to drop out before the election when it was revealed he was pulling in more than a million bucks each year in Farm Aid programs to NOT grow crops.
Pretty much every big farmer you see these days is a Millionaire Marxist that rants and raves about welfare, but oddly enough doesn't see the land band and timber bank programs as welfare for the wealthy.
Go figure,huh?

Never going to happen. For one thing, there is no such critter as a family farm anymore. They are all corporate farms. Some/most of the bigger ones are owned by majority stockholders who have never farmed a day in their lives, unless you consider picking stocks to be farming cash.

Yes, of course. FR's JR also called the cokehead part right early and often. It wasn't until later on that we all added 2+2 on the homo-alky portion, a W who seemed emotionally stunted or abused.
... because he is also a fundie Christian homo.
Now why must you go here with the "Christian fundie" crap?
Firstly, I can't say I know what Dubya's faith was/is, but he or his handlers wanted to portray him as a Christian. As a matter of political expediency.
Secondly, THE USA is now a chaotic mess, bereft of any moral or ethical standards; insanely confused, divided and Balkinized...
So why is that?
It appears we CAN thank the militant Atheists and secular humanist crowds who've been major advocates to turn the entire USA into San Francisco. They've managed to normaliz moral relativity and depravity, justified pathological lying, making the entire Dem Party Communist, and half the (R) Party lying globalist whores...
It appears we can also thank/blame the militant Atheists and humanist crowds for normalizing trannies and rife faggotry; for feminizing boys; for dressing up their children as mini-trannies; For criminalizing and slandering "whites"; for instituting "Hate Speech & Crimes"; for rewarding "victims," the petty and small, bullies, and big mouths who won't respect privacy or free speech; for normalizing the hatred of LE and a patriotic military; for normalizing subversion throughout a formerly polite society as militant Atheists/secular humanists have attempted to drive out Christians, and you know -- those you hate, "Fundies" -- from the Public Square.
You've sown it, now you get to reap its aftermath. WOO-HOO!!
So as your ilk insist on cheering on the demonizing and driving out Christians, whose philosophical descendants were our Founders, our nation's moderating influence upon morality and ethics in the USA (we've seen how that's worked out in Muslim-owned Europe) will disappear into the dark fog. Institutions and society will continue to crumble before our very eyes and devolve into mega-chaos, division, and confusion. And then something horrible will fill the void.

Because "there" is what lead to the guilt which lead to the drunkenness and drug use.
You can't be a fundie Christian who is a homosexual and not have emotional problems. Just being a homosexual is an emotional problem all by itself. Add the stress of "Ahma gonna go to HELL!" to the equation, and it's a slam dunk.
It appears we CAN thank the militant Atheists and secular humanist crowds who've been major advocates to turn the entire USA into San Francisco.
ROFLMAO! Blame you God for homosexuality. People are born homosexual, just like people are born heterosexual,or even asexual. According to the Bible Thumpers,we are all made in God's image,so blame him.
So as your ilk insist on cheering on the demonizing and driving out Christians, whose philosophical descendants were our Founders,
HorseHillary! A lot of the original settlers came her to escape the religious police states established in Europe. You know, people like "your ilk" that terrorized Europe for centuries with their religious courts and executions for heresy.
The truth is nobody can make anybody a homosexual. You are either born with homosexual inclinations,or you're not.
Nobody is born a superstitious fool, though. That has to be learned.

For example, about a decade ago outside of San Francissyco, a special farm was operated for purposes of catering to the SF wierdos.
