Funny as hell, though.

Yep, because the Democratic party was taken over by socialists, who convinced a gullible black majority that they could win acceptance by becoming victims.. All they won is more misery, poor chumps.. --- With more to come, if they keep it up.
Archie was one of the only laugh track shows I ever watched, it's comedy writing was genuinely funny..

They may have started using a laugh track at some point, but the early shows all claimed they were filmed before a live audience. In this episode, it actually sounds like a live audience is doing the laughing.

And O'Connor,"Meathead",the writers, and the producers were all upset that the Archie character had the most fans.

Pretty much everybody that watched it loved it. IIRC,it was the top rated show on tv for years.

Yup...
The Leftist writing crew and cast HATED that the American public actually related to Archie and loved him, finding the role of "Archie" refreshingly honest and funny. The Lefty crew couldn't wrap their heads around it. They also couldn't understand how the parasitic Commie Meathead character was regarded with contempt. So what happened? They changed the entire formula for the show...
Do you recall how after a few years they softened and neutered the Archie character while eventually making the Meathead character appear to be a virtuous, sane Socialist college professor? It was all downhill after that as 'All In The Family' became increasingly propagandist and far less funny. By the last few years, the show was unwatchable.
(The show's "George Jefferson" staring as a "black Archie," went on to star in 'The Jeffersons,' where audiences both black and white embraced the portrayal -- again, because it was refreshingly honest and funny.)
Apparently, leftist Carroll O'Connor -- overly concerned that his character of Archie was so convincing -- immediately starred in another TV show as a southern Sheriff, portraying as a man who was a SJW and whose love interest was black.

If you thought this was funny, 'All In The Family' was this funny and hilarious for the first 2 years.
But like MASH, what had begun as a funny, light-hearted comedy slowly degraded into a Social Justice Vehicle, becoming way too heavy while unnecessarily addressing issues that belonged to a drama, NOT a "comedy." But libeal-Leftists ALWAYS do this to good entertainment, don't they?
If the SJW PTB can take a simple kids game -- NFL Football -- and turn it into an unwatchable Social Justice Sledgehammer -- they an ruin anything.

Genuinely funny, absolutely...
UNTIL the SJW writing and cast began realizing that the joke was on THEM. So they eventually transformed Archie into an Emo-Snowflake.
Carroll O'Connor it was said demanded that his character be changed.

That's my recollection. LIVE audience.

O'Connell was a good actor, though.
The show went obviously downhill after about the 5th season.

We are together on this. The early MASH episodes were great and very funny. The later ones degraded into preachy sermons about American evils.

Yes, it became preachy, condescending as the show's producers engaged in virtue-signalling.
Btw, you and I are allied on most issues.
I don't expect anyone here to agree with me all the time. It would be boring, Paine.

Sorry...My response was originally address to pain, but it applies to all in any case.
But as to Dubya and the entire Bush Crime Family, there IS no defending them at this point.
They've made it crystal clear to you and I and the entire world that they are One World Globalists and anti-American sovereignty. Moreover, they've made it clear that creeps and destroyers 0bama and Clinton are their "family," NOT real Americans and patriots...
Which unfortunately makes them...traitors to the Founders, US Constitution, and to We The People.

I'm not sure how this came about. Maybe they were pushing single motherhood.

No! HA!! Somebody inadvertently stereotyped the irresponsibility and narcissism of the typical selfish Snowflake-Democrat-Socialist loser.
I'm not sure how this came about. Maybe they were pushing single motherhood.
Possible indoctrination/propaganda angle of, "WHO NEEDS MEN? THEY NOT ONLY SHIRK THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES, BUT ARE UNNECESSARY AND USELESS TURDS."
And hasn't early every sitcom or the past 40 years starred a single Mom?

I'm not so sure of that. When you consider he was a closeted homoseuxal coke head and alcoholic that took orders from his mom,he wasn't that bad.
Ok,ok. He WAS that bad.
I think that out of office and off to his own devices without Mommy-Master pulling his strings,he would be a nice guy to talk with, though. He was a really and truly horrible excuse for an alleged Republican President, though.

Notice how nobody has heard from her in a couple of decades now?

Thinking about it, they made not have starred a single mom, but they definitely featured a single mom.
