The FBI's investigation of Donald Trump's former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, includes a keen focus on a series of suspicious wire transfers in which offshore companies linked to Manafort moved more than $3 million all over the globe between 2012 and 2013.

Much of the money came into the United States.

These transactions — which have not been previously reported — drew the attention of federal law enforcement officials as far back as 2012, when they began to examine wire transfers to determine if Manafort hid money from tax authorities or helped the Ukrainian regime close to Russian President Vladimir Putin launder some of the millions it plundered through corrupt dealings.

Money laundering

Isn't that WHY people get into politics? Prior to obtaining public office in Arkansas, the Bubba's could barely afford to buy a used car,and by the time they left the white house they were worth at LEAST 220 MILLION dollars. And that's just the money that can be easily found.

Just think, and all of it on the salary of a public servant! Nope, nothing suspicious there!

From CNN

The indictment against the two men contains 12 counts:

conspiracy against the United States,

conspiracy to launder money,

unregistered agent of a foreign principal,

false and misleading US Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) statements,

false statements,

and seven counts of failure to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts.

The charges do not cover any activities related to the campaign, though it's possible Mueller could add additional charges.

First of all: "BUZZFEED"??

Secondly, when are the Feebs going to bust Hitlery for her Foundation, the Uranium Deal, the Dossier, her Private Server, 0bama, Lynch, and Holder? OH WAIT.

Mannafort is guilty of engaging in the same relative chump-change scams run by 90% of every politician out there.

The ONLY reason Mannafort is busted is to supposedly embarrass Trump.

Isn't that WHY people get into politics?

well, of course, power and money.

However, in this case the "everyone else is doing it" fallacy is irrelevant.

What appears to be happening here, which has been the topic of speculation for some time, is that Manafort was on the Kremlin's payroll to the tune of about $18 Million (latest estimate), and that he laundered the money and evaded US income taxes.

What still has yet to be revealed, is what exactly he did in exchange for the cash.

Revealing what he was paid for, may be his only chance to avoid spending the rest of his life in Federal Prison.

No American has ever been pardoned for tax evasion or money laundering.

I have no idea. But your false argument really has nothing to do with Manafort's crimes does it?

The ONLY reason Mannafort is busted is to supposedly embarrass Trump.

You are welcome to your opinion, but it is far more likely that embarrassment is not even on the list of reasons Manafort and Gates are facing very serious terms in Federal Prison.

Mannafort's "crime" is one and the same were the Feebs to investigate and prosecute half of Congress and ALL of the DNC. THIS investigation was and is a political stunt.

I never believed that BS for a second. People in high places often compliment their opponents as a set up for future action.

I construed Trump's above kind words as a negotiation of sorts, conciliatory and empathetic in tone (given the Witch's staggering to the finish line with all kinds of undisclosed physical-mental maladies.)

Now that Hitlery (like ALL deranged liberal-statist totalitarians) has declared war on him, rejecting Trump's magnanimous olive branch -- which the patently stupid, fat, and drunk Hitlery has recently chosen to ignore - will manifest itself in unpleasant ways.

Now Trump knows... it's GAME ON.

John Koskinen and Lois Lerner retired on full stolen-taxpayer-money pensions after weaponizing the IRS for Odumbass - Trump/Sessions just let them walk.

In fact, Sheryl Attkisson just last week said her sources informed her that Koskinen wasn't fired on Jan. 20th (as he should have been) because waiting until last week allowed his pension to fully vest and maximize.

Good point and observation. Koskinen and Lois Lerner should be in jail for a very long time. And coughed up NAMES. We have still not determined where their orders to weeaponize the IRS and harass ONLY conservatives came from.

Jeff Sessions is NOT to be trusted. We saw exactly whose side he really plays for when he recused himself from the fake "Russia" brouhaha.

I realize there are many who feel Trump as President needed to immediately drain The Swamp. He was in no position while there was a coup and mutiny afoot and few allies wanting to step forward. Now that he's survived it, I look for REAL future justice.

In fact, Sheryl Attkisson just last week said her sources informed her that Koskinen wasn't fired on Jan. 20th (as he should have been) because waiting until last week allowed his pension to fully vest and maximize.

That is disgusting. I HOPE a deal has been made, or else this grave injustice will have been rewarded instead of heavily penalized. Again, I believe Sessions is part of the problem, and deals made behind the scenes -- some of which )hopefully) may not pay off till later.

That's our "new" Just Us department. I'm not holding my breath for ANYBODY to be held to account.

I share your pessimism.

Speculation of course, base on observations and circumstatial evidence, but again -- to be fair, Trump was in the middle of fending off a coup and his own personal survival. It's ridiculous to say this of an incoming President, but Trump was in no position to wade into matters where DS tools were shielded by Bammy's holdovers, aided and abetted by the same GOPe Congressional Globalists who actually supported Bammy and The Hag (and STILL do.)

Yes...Mannafort's indictment has only that single solitary purpose: EMBARRASS TRUMP.

That Mueller has been allowed to become a "Special Prosecutor" tells me either a quid pro quo deal has been made...OR, the infighting between DS'ers and Patriots Within rages on.

I understand the argument.

Here is what the indictments are all about - Manafort has been on the Kremlin's payroll for years - he chose to hide the money he was paid from the IRS and more recently the FEC. He also chose to conceal the relationships he has had and the work he has performed to warrant such handsome paydays.

Is it possible that he was paid-off for his "work" in years well before the election cycle? sure!

But, let's be honest... this un-American acting foreign agent was working for the interests of those paying him - and now he's been caught.

And his work included running the campaign of 45.

This is not about his actions in 2013 it is about what he was paid to do in 2016.

are you suggesting that the office of the special prosecutor has "made up" these indictments?

You are aware that indictments like those presented today, are the result of evidence being presented to a grand jury who must determine whether or not a crime has been committed, right?

and on 12 counts, the grand jury determined that laws have been violated.

Having a problem connecting the two dots, eh?

Mannafort was allegedly conducting a LOT of cloak & dagger business right under the nose of 0bama and Hillary as they were President and SoS respectively, and obviously needing SOME kind of clearance to deal with Russia (remember THEM? 0bama and Hillary ok'd the Uranium Deal, didn't they?)

If it is proven that Ms. Clinton, President Obama, or anyone else was knowingly involved in any way, prosecute them too. Don't try to involve me in your stupid partisan pissing match - I don't care.

Oh, but as a Prog, you DO care. That's why you're so gung-ho on Mannafort's indictment while ignoring the obvious high crimes committed by both your treasonous ex-President and Presidential criminal-wannabe.

How noble of you to care. NOW THAT TRUMP IS PRESIDENT.

How about your concern from 2008-2016 "very real" PROBABILITY that "our democratic process of electing representatives" has ALREADY been tampered with by subversive DOMESTIC interests? Like the DNC and 0bama's and Hitlery's minions?

Funny how you're conveniently forgotten all the clear cases of Election Fraud perpetrated by DNC and Democratic Precincts (Harry Reid's Nevada (D) computers were calibrated by one of his sons, Clark County commission chairman.) I could go on and on and enlighten you. But we both know your supposed neutral political interest and ethics are select.

Forget about ACORN? SEIU? THIS (New Black Panther Party voter intimidation case)?:

The DNC-CNN collusion during Hillary's-Trump debate, 0bama's promise to the Russian President that once he was elected, he' be able to "make deals"? How about key testimony that computerized voting machines can easily be tampered with?
