www.tvguide.com/tvshows/p...episodes-season-1/799483/

You can go to the link above to stream it from Episode 1,Season 1,to the most recent episode.

This, like most of what is produced by Masterpiece Theater,is one of the best historical dramas to be found, and it's free. I am watching season 3 now,and can't wait for the next episode to air.

The casting, acting, and writing is as good as anything you will find anywhere, and better than most. There is history, war, and even love and romance in it. Something for everyone. For any of you who might not know much about history, there are shocking lessons to be learned. If you don't already understand what drove so many to leave Europe and come to America, you WILL understand by the time season 1 ends. Life was short, hungry, and brutal for everyone but thee nobility in the Olde World.

I recommend it to all. I was going to to write "I even recommend it to teens",but due to the history lessons and thee doses of reality,I have decided to recommend it ESPECIALLY for viewing by teens after explaining to them that while it is fiction,it IS an accurate depiction of life in thee 1700's-1800's in Europe for both the peasant (today's working classes) and the nobility (today's trust fund children).

Please pardon the extra letters. My keyboard has had Pepsi spilled on it a time or two too often, and sometimes sticks.

No excuse for pepsi... Switch to beer and the problem will disappear.

We agree Masterpiece and Poldark, --- best thing going on tv.

Yeah, but for some odd reason, probably related to my lack of inhibitions, other problems seem to spring up to cause me trouble.

I quit drinking alcohol due to popular demand, and "losing" several months, back around 1985.

Title: Polkark, from Masterpiece Theater on PBS

It's Poldark. Not to be confused with a different BBC series from back in the Seventies with the same name.

I was going to download in h.265 but can't find a complete set so far.

I suppose you managed to stream these direct on your Roku. I have one but haven't installed a channel for streaming PBS shows yet.

Yes,I know. Damn typos!

Well, that would be one option. Another would be to just click on the link I provided that will take you directly to the TV Guide place you can stream it from on your computer, and then to your tv if you want. Nothing to buy, just click on the link and there you are.

Yeah, but I have that Plex media server running. It's like a private Netflix, has episode descriptions, etc.

So if a show is good enough to watch, I like to grab the whole thing, usually in 720p x265. I found season 2 in x265 but can't find the other seasons complete in that format. On an elite private tracker I belong to, I found the 720p x264 (22GB p/season) and the 1080p x264 (45GB p/season). But I can't imagine I would like this show well enough to dedicate that much disk space to it.

I'll keep hunting to see if I can find a set of it that I want to keep.

BTW, I see a tentative listing for the beginning of season 4. It appears to be ongoing.

" Switch to beer "

Forget beer. A better solution would be Wild Turkey 101.

It's based on a set of classic novels. Not that it means anything. This is TV and the copyright is long dead on all of them. The producers can have the writers alter it and end it or extend it any time they want.

Wild Turkey is ok for people that don't know better. Good whiskey comes in gallon jugs, and it's white.

To each his own. If you had ever seen some of that made, you would not want to drink it. Granted, some is made very well, but there is a lot made that is terrible, run through old truck radiators, open vats with dead possums, etc.

Problem is, most you do not know who or how it was made.

I will stick to stuff made in more sanitary environment.

My father earned the money to buy his first new car by making and selling white whiskey.

Granted, some is made very well, but there is a lot made that is terrible, run through old truck radiators, open vats with dead possums, etc.

You question EVERYTHING the government tells you,yet you believe that whiskey makers, who earn their living making and selling whiskey and want to sell more of it,use old car radiators and vats with dead possums in them? Where did you learn about making whiskey, watching the Beverly Hillbillies on tv?

There are families that have been making whiskey for generations, yet you believe the crap the government puts out about bootleg whiskey so they can protect their tax income?

Pete, I did not mean to offend you. I am sure what your father made was very good. But some was not made well, and some was. I described what I have physically seen, in the hills of eastern Ky.

You made an issue about my statement about Wild Turkey 101. You obviously prefer the white stuff. Fine. As I said before, to each his own.

I will leave it at that. Again, If I offended you, I am sorry. I normally agree with you, but we have different opinions on this matter. It is not that important to me. I am done with this discussion!

Have a good day!

There is absolutely no need to apologize. We are just two anonymous people posting differing opinions on the interweb. Hell,*I* disagree with me all the time.
