There are a few classes where one's politics really are irrelevant. Despite Leftist claims that everything is subjective, there are a few places where that just can't be true. Subjectivity may change someone's outlook on history, for example, but it doesn't do anything about changing the fact that 2+2=4.

But that's not stopping Texas State University

From Campus Reform:

Texas State University is hoping to hire two Math Education professors with a demonstrated and longstanding commitment to “social justice.”

According to the job postings on Inside Higher Ed, the two new professors must not only share TSU’s commitment to “education equity” and “social justice,” but should preferably also have a demonstrated record of engagement or academic research on the issue.

The openings are for both tenured or tenure-track positions at the “ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor,” with different levels of social-justice expertise preferred at each level.

Among the preferred qualifications for the Assistant Professor rank is a “demonstrated knowledge and engagement” with issues including “social justice, equity, access, and multilingual learning,” while the Associate and Full Professor ranks prefer “evidence of research and practices” on such topics.

Multilingual learning makes some sense, because schools do have a number of students who don't fully grasp English. The rest?

Absolute crap.

When you're looking for someone to teach people how to teach math, the last thing that matters are their opinions on white privilege or feminism, for crying out loud. What matters is whether they can impart knowledge that will enable their students to go forth into the world and teach children how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Maybe a bit of algebra in there, too.

That's it. That's all that should matter.

Poster Comment:

The gathering storm. There will be a serious face-off between those Americans who possess the true intelligence lacked by today's education industry communist lackeys. We know what's happening, but the cell phone, television, video game addicts and potheads haven't a clue what's happening to this nation that's now reduced to pitiful status.

The difference between the factions of true Constitutional intellect and the communists who would take over America is that we, on the right, have the guns and the determination while the communists just have the hammer and sickle.

Many academics would think this was a crock. HR and other departments insert these conditions in job descriptions all the time. Worthless departments, worthless employees. Sack them all and return all schools to dedicated academics.

The ONLY way to fight this is at the local level. Any taxpayer that lives in Texas needs to start posting the above on every community bulletin board,as well as writing letters to the editors of every Texas newspaper they can think of to bring pressure on the state education board,as well as the local school board members. Inform the mouth-breating public of what is going on around them, and with their numbers you can vote those school board cretins that approved of that crap out of office, and replace them with sane people.

Nothing else will work. Neither the local school board, the state education officials,or any elected creature in the government in Texas gives a damn what people reading this article that live in other states have to say or what they think about it. The rubber only meets the road IN Texas on this one,so it is MUCH easier to fight IF you can be bothered to get the attention of Texas voters.

This college is 30 miles from Austin. Most people in Texas assume the area is infested with fruitbats.

Does that mean they have to teach 2+2=5?

I wish the fruitbats from that area who are presently perched in Colorado would fly back home.

Hopefully...

...they'll be lured back by the pungent aroma of the crap that lured them here.

It's more like:

A university has 500 white honor roll students, 200 Asian ones, and 4 black ones.

The black students complain they are being discriminated against.

Exactly how many white students should give up their privilege and relinquish their their status so that black students have any chance at all of succeeding?

You'll have plenty of new takers if the Texans return home.

Be careful what you wish for. You might end up with a worse grade of Mile-High stoners.

Worse than Neil, Yeberito, and the company the Shrub Klan moved into the neighborhood with?

Have to be quite the grifters to pull that off.
