I was on the operating table being put under anesthesia. All of a sudden I found my self drifting towards a bright light in the distance. I kept getting closer and closer.
Then suddenly I was playing halfback for the Detroit Lions in a tough game against the Packers. Stafford handed me the ball facing a a packer defense stacked against the run, but I made a determined, hard fought run for a 5 yard gain.
However, at the end of the run, I was slammed down hard by a Green Bay defender. I knew a flag would be tossed, but none was. I got up furious at the lack of a call, waving my arms and shouting wildly.
Then I found myself drifting back into the darkness. The next thing I knew, I was in recovery. I heard a doctor say, "he'll be okay except for some temporary numbness in his feet.
This was life changing. i'll never be the same again.
