They overlook the fact that Trump is a germophobe and dislikes shaking hands in general. These French leaders are kind of clingy and needy. Recall when Prez Hollande came to the White House, escaping his incredible popularity in France. He was so happy he stayed there for 3 days so he wouldn't have to go home. The Secret Service almost had to evict him to get rid of him.
