The thief who swiped a Secret Service agent’s laptop targeted the agent in question and knew exactly what he was after ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ. Our sources say the thief -- whom they say is a man -- was caught on surveillance video pulling up to the agent's driveway in an Uber at around 3 AM Thursday. The video shows the man make a beeline for the agent's car, removing a backpack with the computer inside and then walking off. As we reported, the hard drive contained Trump Tower floor plans and evacuation protocols, but the agency insists there was no classified info inside. The thief also made off with a passport and several Secret Service lapel pins. It's unclear what the thief was looking for if all the content was non- sensitive. We're told the video is grainy so it's hard to make out the thief's features, but it's definitely a lead.

Those SS lapel pins are NOT "non-sensitive". They are one method cops and other security forces use to identify SS agents at political events and anywhere the president or his family may be at any given moment.

Whoever that agent was needs to be fired and lose his or her pension for leaving that backpack unsecured, and they obviously did it as a matter or course every day or this couldn't have been planned.

OR the agent intended to leave the laptop just like that, it was prearranged, to get somebody access to Trump's building, and it was done via backpack "accidentally left" so that there was plausible deniability.

Take a look at two years' worth of surveillance video. Does the agent ALWAYS leave his backpack in the car every day. Or did he just happen to do it on THAT day?

I stand corrected. I have no proof, but I SUSPECT your theory may be the correct one.

I kind of had the same hunch.

My first thought, also....made SO obvious from the narrative here.

Then maybe that was the INTENT of the narrative.

We Can't believe anyone, anymore - in this day and time....if it is on the Web.

One thing we can do, is to read it....then file it away in our memory bank and not overreact to it.

Even thought some do....present company excepted, of course!

THIS is why Trump says - correctly - that they wiretapped his building. He knows from the Secret Service about this. Putting two and two together, one sees what happened. It's why he won't back down in the face of whole agencies of the government parsing words to try to discredit him.

That certainly makes sense. And in the Fed Govt, NO ONE is to be trusted !!!

good thing Trump retained his own private security !!
