President Trump’s promise to build a “great wall” on the border between the United States and Mexico is happening – whether liberals like it or not.

The Department of Homeland Security is kicking off bid solicitations, according to FedBizOpps.gov:

The Dept. of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) intends on issuing a solicitation in electronic format on or about March 6, 2017 for the design and build of several prototype wall structures in the vicinity of the United States border with Mexico. The procurement will be conducted in two phases, the first requiring vendors to submit a concept paper of their prototype(s) by March 10, 2017, which will result in the evaluation and down select of offerors by March 20, 2017. The second phase will require the down select of phase 1 offerors to submit proposals in response to the full RFP by March 24, 2017, which will include price. Multiple awards are contemplated by mid-April for this effort. An option for additional miles may be included in each contract award.

Speaking at CPAC, President Trump told an CPAC crowd that planning of the wall was a head of schedule.

As per news.au.com:

Trump has vowed to start building a wall on the Mexican border “soon, way ahead of schedule”.

Mr Trump told the nation’s largest gathering of conservative activists, the Conservative Political Action Congress, in Washington, that he vowed to always put American citizens first and build a “great, great border wall”.

“We’re building the wall,” he said.

“In fact it’s going to start very soon. Way ahead of schedule. It’s way, way, way ahead of schedule.”

Alarmed that the President is following through on his promise, the Mexican government is threatening a “trade war” with the United States.

SKY News reports:

Mexico’s foreign minister Luis Videgaray said his country would respond to any tax levied by the US and that they did not actually need financial help.

He warned Mexico could impose levies on select goods aimed at US regions most reliant on exports south of the border, such as Iowa, Texas and Wisconsin.

Speaking during a radio interview, Mr Videgaray said: “Without a doubt, we have that possibility and what we cannot do is remain with our arms crossed.

“The Mexican government would have to respond.”

Careful, Mexico!

Good. The sooner it is built, the better !!

The Russians build the Berlin Wall to keep people in.

Conversely,

Our southern border wall will be more like the Great Wall of China. That wall was built to keep the barbarians out of China. Trumps wall will be to keep the barbarians out of the USA. Anyone that does not like Trumps wall can ESAD !!!

The wall had better be properly designed, not made of barbed wire and fenceposts or electronic gadgetry. It should be solid concrete 50 feet high. Anything less than that will have mexicans with stepladders climbing over it for amusement and challenge. Essentially we need an interstate highway turned on its side with gun turrets on top every quarter mile manned with snipers armed with 30-06s. Additionally it should have a six foot high wall 15 feet in front of it to prevent ramming by vehicles, kids, or placing of explosives.

I don't trust DHS.

Sounds good.

But, instead of additional six foot wall, I would suggest we place a high density minefield, of about 100 yd depth, mixed with various types of AP, and AT mines. Then constantly overfly with drones that are properly armed. Also, have a high concentration of ground sensors to detect any possible tunneling activity.

Mine fields can be cleared by parading cattle or even kids through them. You must have the six foot wall. Anything, or anybody that climbs over the wall is fair game for 30-06 snipers. Anything that approachs the wall is fair game for a bazooka. As far as tunneling, we have ultrasonic systems to detect it. When one is detected, fill it with gasoline fumes and set it off, then watch people sail in the air from its entry point. Then fill it with concrete.

Don't bother calling me a son of a bitch for having anticipated this ahead of time. I already know I'm a son of a bitch.
