Mack Beggs, a 17-year-old transgender boy, has defeated his female opponent in the first round of match in the Texas state wrestling tournament.

Controversially, Beggs is competing against girls because the state’s governing policy for athletics requires students to wrestle against the gender listed on their birth certificates.

Beggs reached the tournament after two opponents forfeited rather than wrestle him in the regional tournament. He improved to 53-0 with the win over Taylor Latham in the 110-pound class on Friday.

At the match’s end he shook hands with Latham before pointing high in the stands to cheering fans wearing the colors of his school, Euless Trinity.

Seconds later, his coach whisked Beggs and his grandmother into an area restricted to athletes and coaches.

Texas requires athletes to compete on the basis of the sex listed on their birth certificate.

So this girl calls herself Mack and takes testosterone (which should disqualify her entirely from sports) and now she'll win it all due to this advantage.

Texas made this choice to, in part, keep boys from competing as girls and destroying girls' sports in Texas. However, they didn't think this scenario through very well.

" This country is really screwed up. "

It is beyond that. It should become a national sport to hunt down the people that brought all this BS into being, and promoted it, and beat the complete hell out of them!

"because the state’s governing policy for athletics requires students to wrestle against the gender listed on their birth certificates."

OK. Then what's wrong with requiring students to use the bathroom according to the gender listed on their birth certificates?
