EAST FLATBUSH, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A 16-year-old girl was shot and killed in Brooklyn Tuesday evening while babysitting a cousin.

Just before 6 p.m. in the 1400 block of Brooklyn Avenue in East Flatbush, police responded to a call of a gunshot fired on the sixth-floor of the building.

Officers entered an apartment and found a semi-conscious 16-year-old girl with multiple gunshot wounds to her body.
