Boston, MA — An infuriating video was uploaded to Facebook this week showing an off-duty Boston cop tackling a small older man in a fit of road rage. According to multiple witnesses, the cop nearly hit the older gentlemen as he drove through a crosswalk.

After almost being run over by the incompetent cop, the older man, who was on foot, simply tapped the cop’s window with his umbrella to alert him to the fact that he nearly hit him. This tapping on the window set the cop off into a fit of rage, leading to him chasing down, tackling, and assaulting the innocent man.

When the older gentleman saw the raging lunatic jump out of his vehicle and chase him, he naturally ran. This set the cop off even more, and when he finally caught up to the man, he tackled him, shoved his face into the pavement, and put his knee in his back.

The video, taken by a vigilant citizen, Stephen Harlowe, starts as the cop is ramming the man’s head into the sidewalk.

According to Harlow, and the video, the man wearing a Redsox jersey who identified himself as a ‘Boston police officer,’ refused to provide his name or badge number. During the entire melee, the man identifying himself as a cop was asked to show his badge multiple times and he refused.

Since he refused to identify himself, it would have been interesting to see what would have happened had concerned citizens jumped in to protect this older man from his assailant.

As if nearly running over an elderly pedestrian, chasing him down, tackling, and assaulting him wasn’t enough — this cop called for backup to have his fellow cops help him in the process. Almost immediately, nearly a dozen cops show up to help their buddy in his fit of rage.

The witnesses are all but completely ignored as the cop explains that he likely ‘feared for his life’ when the older gentleman tapped on his window with his umbrella. There was zero damage to the cop’s car, yet the off-duty officer attempted to describe the scenario as if he was the victim.

According to Harlowe, the cops refused to take witness statements regarding the tackling of the man in spite of his multiple wounds suffered at the hands of one of Boston’s finest.

Eventually, according to Harlowe, the man would be let go as there was zero evidence that he committed a crime. Sadly, however, the one who did commit a crime will be back on the streets wearing his full uniform to protect and serve the citizens of Boston.

The Free Thought Project contacted the Boston Police Department to find out if they were aware of this video. We have yet to receive a response.

Below is a perfect example of abuse of power and subsequent acceptance of it by peers. Had an average citizen tackled a man for tapping on their window, they would undoubtedly be facing assault charges right now. Instead, this power hungry public servant is considered the victim.

" this power hungry public servant is considered the victim. "

Most likely, because the elderly man had bought the last of the glazed at the krispie cream. The hero could not be expected to simply take that. LOL

I hope the victim gets a real good junk yard dog lawyer, and sues the living shit out of the "hero", and takes everything the "hero" owns. Then the "hero" has to eat out of dumpsters.

Maybe put him down in the "hood" wearing a sign that says "I hate niggers". LOL

Could be the cop just chowed down on a half-dozen and was amped up from the sugar rush.

He could go with the "Twinkie" defense that was tried in San Francisco in 1979.

The cop should be removed from the PD, and reassigned to the sanitation dept, and have him just slinging garbage. He should not be allowed to have a gun & badge!

Too bad the victim elderly man was not Vito Corleone. Then invite the cop to dinner in some remote Italian restaurant.

The video ... starts as the cop is ramming the man’s head into the sidewalk.

Oh, don't they all?

How about the blow by blow narrative by the video guy who didn't see anything?

That's where he made his mistake. When you are old you can't outrun a younger man that is healthy and mad. He should have stood his ground and used the tip of the umbrella like a spear tip and hit the cop in the throat or one of his eyes.

Unless of course he was stupid enough to be carrying a umbrella with a plastic tip,or no tip at all.

Note to self:

Get rid of that cheap umbrella in the trunk of my car and buy a steel-tipped one.

Ok,now I have watched the whole video, and while the off-duty cop was in the wrong,it was no where near as bad as described. For one thing, the guy with the umbrella was probably in his late 30's or early 40's. That's only elderly if you are 10.

For another, there is no visable evidence at all that the cop slammed the guys head on the sidewalk, either accidentally or on purpose. No blood,no scrapes,no swelling,no anything.

And finally,the off-duty cop,if he IS a off-duty cop, didn't even look particularly mad,never mind "enraged".

Yeah,I think he was in the wrong for chasing the guy down and tackling him and then "taking him into custody" without even showing a badge, and I suspect he violated department policy by not doing so. I also suspect he won't be penalized for that or any of the other actions he took, either. The guy with the umbrella was a white guy,so unless he is a tranny or a homosexual, nobody will give a damn. Especially not the courts in Boston.

Unless of course he is related to some of the white nobility in Boston. Then the cop will get smacked down in private and we will never hear another word mentioned about this.

NOT going to happen, and we all know it.

Do a little web searching for umbrella combat. The British have been using umbrellas as defensive weapons for centuries, just like they have canes and walking sticks.

It's going to cost a few bucks, but if you get a stout one with a good metal tip that runs to the handle, and a handle of something like hickory or oak,you can smite the heathens with every stroke if you know what you are doing.

Not that *I* would ever recommend or participate in aggression,of course.

"When the older gentleman saw the raging lunatic jump out of his vehicle and chase him, he naturally ran."

He ran about two blocks before the "raging lunatic" tackled him. Pretty good for an "older" gentleman.
