United States News Title: Is anyone still glad they voted for the Kenyan? Anyone? Remember January 2009 when Barack Obama was walking on water? When his approval rating was north of 70 percent and we conservatives were told that resistance is futile in the face of the most powerful political figure since, well, ever? Then came that unavoidable force known as reality. The stimulus . . . didnt. Unemployment is stubbornly high. Iran keeps ignoring us. A majority of Americans still hate Obamacare, and Obamas endorsed candidates have performed about as well as a BP well cap. After every policy setback and political gaffe, the Obots kept telling themselves everything was gonna be OK. First it was, Well, at least hes really bright. Then, Well, at least the rest of the world likes us. Then, Well, hes good at campaigning. And until Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST, it was Well, at least he gives a good speech. Oops. Obama is down to his last well. And its not the one dumping oil into the Gulf. All the Obots have left is, Well, at least hes not George Bush. Is there anyone left who is proud of voting for Obama? Affirmatively proud, I mean, not merely glad they didnt vote Republican. Anyone? Even the sycophants at MSNBC are getting grumpy. Keith Please Adjust My Meds Olbermann called Obamas performance Tuesday a great speech - if you were on another planet the last 57 days. Try this experiment: Ask an Obama-voting co-worker, Are you glad you voted for him? Ill bet you a lunch the answer will be, At least I didnt vote for that bleeping Bush! What made Obamas BP speech so depressing is that Bush-hatred is all he has left, too. Instead of How are we going to plug the hole? half the speech was on Obamas plan to have us plugging in electric cars 20 years from now. Only the Deep Horizon well may still be leaking because if theres a plan to cap it, Obama kept that secret. Based on the Obama narrative, this should have been Baracks big moment. A nation facing an unthinkable disaster, but led by Americas Greatest Speechmaker. Only instead of comforted and inspired, we were left annoyed and confused. Annoyed because Obama didnt answer the only question we cared about - Can we plug the damn hole? - and confused because he was talking about cap-and-trade even as liquid energy gushed across our TVs at the rate of 2.5 million gallons a day. Heres the deal: Nobody voted for Obama because he was ready for that 3 a.m. phone call from the Gulf - Persian or Mexico. And nobody voted for his policies, which are to the left of most Americans and remain unpopular. The only legitimate reason for supporting Obama was because hes a great speechmaker whose rhetoric could impact reality. Only hes not and it cant. Which helps explain Obamas new record-low approval of 42 percent. Americans have figured it out and the Obots are out of excuses. If the guy cant talk, whats the point?
