WASHINGTON (Politically Illustrated) U.S. General David Petraeus appeared to have passed out on Tuesday during a Senate hearing, but regained consciousness and left the room under his own authority. Mr. Petraeus, 57, finished answering a question from Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) during a hearing at the Senate Armed Services Committee where he stopped talking suddenly and aides began to help him.
He rose without help and was escorted out of the room.
Mr. Petraeus was diagnosed with early-stage prostate cancer in February 2009 and underwent two months of successful radiation treatment at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Mr. Petraeus finished his testimony after, aides say, he passed out after choking.
