Boehner to Bush-Bashing Beatle: Apologize!?
Sir Paul McCartney's cheap shot aimed at former President George W. Bush at a White House event on Wednesday has prompted House Minority Leader John Boehner to demand an apology from the Beatle.
McCartney literally gushed over President Obama throughout his East Room concert. Getting this prize would just be good enough, but getting it from this president McCartney said letting his praise trail off as if there were vast volumes left unsaid.
The prize McCartney was given is the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, a lifetime achievement award bestowed by the Library of Congress.
McCartney ended the evening taking a baseless cheap shot at former President George W. Bush.
After the last eight years, its great to have a President who knows what a library is, McCartney quipped.
When did decorum go out of style?
Like millions of other Americans, I have always had a good impression of Paul McCartney and thought of him as a classy guy, but I was surprised and disappointed by the lack of grace and respect he displayed at the White House, Boehner told HUMAN EVENTS. I hope he'll apologize to the American people for his conduct which demeaned him, the White House and President Obama.
McCartney is the third recipient of the Gershwin Prize. Hailing from England and having earned no university degrees of his own, the Beatle may not know W. was the first American president to earn a masters degree in business administration. (The fact the MBA is from Harvard really irks the left.) Not to mention Bush is married to a librarian.
Your hero deserves every word of derision sent his way...you have that in common...
Why that can't be the Badeye who posts that he has never even met a Bushbot and was among one of Bush's biggest critics (evidently unless it is someone else doing the criticizing).
Didn't Connie Hair used to post on FR? I think her ID was Cal.
The irony here is I'd feel the same way if Sir Dumbass had made a comment about Clinton's sexual abuse of women while in the Whitehouse.
Thats the difference between me and the hate filled liberals and wanna be's.
The difference is.... I don't hold politicians as sacred icons and I feel even Paul McCartney has the right to criticize any and all of them. Hate filled or not has nothing to do with it and is just more of your subjective PC. Some politicians are well deserving of being hated.
I don't hold them as 'sacred icons' far from it. But the fact remains McCartney's classless comment should have been made on his own time, not in the Whitehouse.
Second, I wonder if McCartney has ever read a book in HIS LIFE.
Third, Bush has degrees from both Harvard and Yale...did McCartney even graduate highschool?
Fourth, on the 'dumb ass meter' McCartney had it pegged when he married his last super tramp. Remember? The one legged gold digger? He's so fucking stupid he didn't get a pre nup, then whined for two years about it.
There is a time and a place to display stupidity, or hatred. McCartney's choice and method made him look like a idiot.

And made Owe-bama look bad as a 'bonus'.

I agree.
We have over 20 million illegal aliens here who can live off of the public domain services, picket in broad daylight, and still not get arrested for violating hundreds of laws. And still have more rights than Americans.
Paul McCartney is not a citizen either, and yet he can come here and stand in the White House and have more political influence with a sentence less than ten words than most of our worthless congressmen and senators (e.g., John McCain) has in thirty years.

Like I said before the illegal immigration issue was all moot as soon as PRESIDENT G H W BUSH negotiated and signed NAFTA.
Maybe you and Badeye should tell us who in your world should have freedom of speeech here and who should not.
Last I heard McCartney was NOT a US tax evader. In fact he's probably paid enough to keep a couple of states afloat.
