Hey, What About Job Offers for Halter or Brunner? June 03, 2010 10:15 AM By Jim Geraghty After the revelations about White House bribes/job discussions with Joe Sestak in Pennsylvania and Andrew Romanoff in Colorado, the NRSC smells blood:
These revelations in Colorado and Pennsylvania raise valid questions as to whether or not Arkansas Democrat Senate hopeful and insurgent liberal challenger Lt. Governor Bill Halter (D-AR) was offered a similar opportunity in an effort to avoid a nasty primary battle against U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln (D-AR).
Clearly there is a troubling pattern here that raises new questions in Arkansas. As the details continue to surface surrounding the job opportunities that the Obama Administration offered to Democrats in Colorado and Pennsylvania, Arkansans deserve to know: Was Bill Halter ever offered a similar opportunity? And if not, why did the White House consider it more important to protect party-switcher Arlen Specter and appointed Senator Michael Bennet, but not a veteran incumbent like Blanche Lincoln, who has toed the party line for President Obama on key initiatives like the stimulus and health care? asked National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) spokeswoman Amber Marchand.
Meanwhile, the campaign of GOP Ohio Senate candidate Rob Portman wonders, In the wake of recent White House job offers, one must ask, was Jennifer Brunner offered a job to make way for Obama rubber stamp and Washington establishment choice Lee Fisher?
If the White House didnt offer Brunner a job, its probably just because shes a woman.
