Thirty-five years after his first visit to the US as a Beatle, Sir Paul McCartney performed for a small invited audience including President and Mrs Obama in the East Room of the White House last night.
The concert, one of a series hosted by the First Lady, also featured Elvis Costello and Stevie Wonder, and the comedian Jerry Seinfeld.
It followed a presentation of the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song to Sir Paul at the Library of Congress.
