Take a moment this weekend to remember those who served and either paid with their lives or have left us.
And feel free to thank a veteran for being willing to do so.
And feel free to thank a veteran for being willing to do so.
I live with two veterans today, and I'm grateful I can thank them everyday. Our house will be filling up sometime this afternoon with family from out of state, they do this every year, and we go to many cemeterys in this area, decorating, remembering them, then we all gather and visit at one place...it's a good day, and I hope it's just as nice today for everyone else here....
And I'd like to Thank every veteran we have here at LF, any family members who served..G-d Bless You!

The filter only blocks the comments, not the articles. After witnessing this bullshit I wish it did block the articles, especially self penned ones like this.
For approximately 72K, BP Oil bought Owe-bama. And as President, he let them Spill, Baby, Spill! Its documented.
To be honest, I haven't read the article about this Magic person, so I'm in the dark to the animocity on this thread, it's really getting crapped on, just want you to know, and any vets here, I meant what I said.
Have a good week-end!

I couldn't have summed you up any better than you just did.

Here's the guy who hated me and thought I was a "punk". He and I corresponded the year he was in Afghanistan and, as you see the reference, he regularly sent me pics.
He passed away of colon cancer last year. About a month before he did, he wrote me saying that he was going away again but I just assumed it was back to Afghanistan. He never told me that he was sick.
I speak for a lot of good men & women - it is our pleasure to do so.
The last effort was harder than previous. We spent a lot of time chasing these people over hill and dale. I just don't see them as being an effective or cohesive threat to the Afghan government. Yeah, they still strike but as of late, it's been unarmed aid workers.
The Afghan military is better than a year ago. More capable and quite willing to deal with the threat.
And my little village - refer to photos - is thriving. My little clinic is busy 19 hours a day, and so far, there's been no significant threat since the near miss mortar attack I wrote about.
"Mission accomplished" ... hmmm. I hear that sometimes bodes bad luck. LOL!

Here's a great beyond pick 379th has a few good photos with high clarity from the war, so glad this artist chose the 379th BG. Freepages Military excerpt: Among its many distinctions, the 379th was awarded the unprecedented "8th Air Force Operational Grand Slam" for operations during May 1944 in recognition for being first in each of the three areas in which Bomb Groups were graded:
* Best Bombing Results (greatest percent of bombs on target) * Greatest tonnage of bombs dropped on target * Largest number of aircraft attacking.
They were the only unit ever recognized in this manner.
In addition, the 379th had other distinctions including being quickest Bomb Group to complete its first 300 missions (of a wartime total of 330 missions) and, for a time, holding both the highest sortie count and lowest loss/abort rate in the 8th AF.. They dropped more than 26,000 tons of bombs and claimed the destruction of 315 enemy aircraft. During its history, the 379th operated about 308 total Flying Fortresses losing 149 by the end of the war, a somewhat sombering 48% loss rate.[end]
Family member was Ball Turret gunner on B 17G #43 37743 piloted by Raymond L Foulger.
Side note....several Hollywood Actors saw service with the Mighty 8th. Clarke Gable,.....Jimmy Stewart.
Rush Limbaugh can go choke down some oxy,......Chickenhawk trash!
