Author Joe McGinniss has taken up residence in a house next to Palin's lakeside home in Wasilla. McGinniss previously wrote a critical expose on Palin and her natural gas pipeline plan for the Conde Nast publication Portfolio last year, and is planning a book about the former Alaska governor and GOP vice presidential candidate. It's tentatively titled, "Sarah Palin's Year of Living Dangerously" and could be on the shelves in the fall of 2011. "Yes, that Joe McGinniss. Here he is about 15 feet away on the neighbor's rented deck overlooking my children's play area and my kitchen window," Palin posted on Facebook late Monday, hours after returning from a trip to the Lower 48 and learning of McGinniss' presence. "We're sure to have a doozey to look forward to with this treasure he's penning. Wonder what kind of material he'll gather while overlooking Piper's bedroom, my little garden, and the family's swimming hole?" she wrote. McGinniss is renting the place "for the next five months or so," Palin wrote. Neither McGinniss nor his agent were available for comment Tuesday. However, his publishing house, Broadway Books, released a statement. It reads, in part: "McGinniss is the author of "Going to Extremes," a classic book about Alaska, and his work-in-progress returns him to the 49th state to examine Sarah Palin's significance as both a political and cultural phenomenon and as an embodiment of the contradictory forces that shaped Alaska as it moved into its second half-century of statehood. "Well regarded for his in-depth, up-close reporting, Mr. McGinniss will be highly respectful of his subject's privacy as he investigates her public activities," the statement says. Palin has promised to ensure that privacy. "And you know what they say about 'fences make for good neighbors'? Well, we'll get started on that tall fence tomorrow," she wrote on Facebook.

This is so wrong, on so many levels, its hard to know where to begin.

Problem is she lives in town. Out in the country in PA some houses burn down when no one is home. Haven't heard about that in 40 years, I went off to college and lost touch with the people back home for the most part.
Around here its fairly common a home where a known sexual predator is living is given to 'spontaneous combustion'. Same thing here as far as I'm concerned. And I'd have a very brief, intense conversation with the neighbor that rented the house to this sick freak.

Things calmed down locally in PA after the '70 RE tax assessments were done by an out of state company (Ohio). Brought in from out of town solely to jack them up. Lot of people moved to the north central part of the state and elsewhere. Some good and some bad left. NJ was far worse, you can see that now but the same problems started at the same time. Jacked up taxes caused lots of businesses to move south. I had a job updating F-4 Phantom equipment from the late '60s. I had to locate a lot of suppliers. A lot were from NJ and nearly all had moved south, MD to NC some even FL. NJ's pain will get much worse next year.

I thought I saw that she has a son in his 30s but she eventually divorced the dad. I saw that today. I guess she remarried.
When I worked at the V A most war vets there didn't want to even talk about their military service. You had to pry it out of them. But there was always some who revelled in it and you would find later they usually were either stationed stateside in safe assignments, had actually lied or used stolen docs to get service. Records of WWI and for some WWII vets were spotty and it was easy for a guy to just show up and get service. I was also amazed about the amount of foreign nationals, qualified for care, who were in our military during those and the Korean wars.

ABC News tries to talk to author Joe McGinniss, who is renting the house next door to Sarah Palin in Wasilla, Alaska. When the reporter knocks on his door, he is told by McGinniss that he's trespassing and threatens to call the police.

And the report at ABC's website mentions Palin's home isn't in the town its 'out in the woods' which also suggests its in an 'unzoned' area.
