When Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast in 2005, the media and Hollywood were ready with two competing storylines: President Bush was incompetent in his disaster response (media) AND President Bush had sinisterly planned/allowed Hurricane Katrina to wallop a predominantly African-American New Orleans (Hollywood), perhaps for political gain. It was no surprise that "singer" Kanye West told a national audience that President Bush "hates black people" during a televised award show. Now the disaster is on the other foot. Here is how the recent spill of copious amounts of crude oil should be covered by the media and the Hollywood-types;
1) The oil spill occurred April 20th, but President Acorn did not begin a concerted federal response until May 1st, when Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano put a Coast Guard Commandant Admiral in charge of the efforts. How could they allow almost two weeks go by without coordinating federal efforts? Suspicious?
2) The Gulf Coast communities and the fishing-industry will be devastated for years to come due to the inadequate federal response.
3) If President Acorn were not so focused on his wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, we would have the resources needed here to deal with this crisis.
4) President Acorn hates people on the Gulf Coast (most of whom voted for McCain) and is punishing them for partisan political gain.
Did I miss any conclusions that could be drawn? I am certain that CBS/MSNBC/NBC/ABC?WashingtonPost/NYTimes will get right on that story. Right?
