Some in the press have been asking; is this oil spill Obamas Katrina? New information has surfaced that would suggest this oil spill is worse than Katrina, in respect to the response from the Obama administration. I will argue that the response to Katrina was expected and not the fault of the Bush administration. I have talked with plenty of people involved in the rescue in New Orleans and the fault lies squarely on the shoulders of Ray Nagin (mayor of New Orleans).
New information reveals that the Obama administration ignored a specific plan designed in 1994, by the Clinton administration, to deal with such a disaster. The plan called In Situ Burn was designed to make sure that burn booms could immediately be employed to avoid the eco-disaster we are facing now. According to Ron Gouguet, had the plan been instituted immediately 95% of the spill could have been burnt off before getting anywhere close to shore. Mr. Gouguet should know, he helped craft the policy. A week had passed before a test burn was even attempted. Had Obama been less incompetent this policy would have been enacted immediately. It is interesting that the Obama administration seems so ignorant to existing disaster plans, especially when this plan was crafted by the husband of the current Sec. of State.
Katrina was but a minor incident in comparison to Obamas response to the oil spill. Mr. Obama never fails to prove he is completely naive and incompetent in his job. You, of course, will not hear about this in the main stream media.
