Are we willing to admit our current jobs Depression really belongs to the white American male? Are we willing to recognize the real success of the Tea Party movement belongs to frustrated, out of work white American males at home and on computers and fed up with how this society is treating them? Career counselor Marty Nemko who has advised 2,000 people, says, “My white male clients have a tougher time getting hired than do women or minorities.” He says the “77 cents on the dollar wage disparity” for women is a misconception.
Variables peculiar only to men include work hazards, tougher job evaluations, the specter of discriminatory companies, longer commute times and times on task ,skew the figures, and men actually do work longer and harder than women.
Everyday TV ads show white males as either a doofus or Darth Vader reincarnated. One especially despicable utility ad shows the wife mother and two children (a boy and a girl) pointing their remote controls at the hapless white husband father. The message that the controller of the remote has all the power is unmistakable.
Consider how many prime time shows feature white males as serial killers, rapists, murderers, criminal perps. The particularly dangerous meth drug problem in our society is foisted on the pedestal of while male badness. Even a little white boy turns out to be the real sex abuser killer in one detective show while the crime is solved by the multicultural soup pot of phony TV cop actors.
From GI Joe, Audie Murphy, Ronald Reagan, to John Wayne, John Glenn and our Sully, we see the white American male’s magnificence denied. White males have transformed our country into civilization’s leap never before accomplished in human history.
Old Dead White Guys
Yet, our textbooks have so deconstructed our men’s feats that our children have no great role models. Western civilization’s great literary classics now are just discarded as “old, dead white maleness” better to be forgotten.
Nemko says, “In my office, many, many of my white male clients–competent, well-adjusted people–have cried, and occasionally yelled, in frustration at their inability to get a decent job while less qualified minorities and women leapfrog them.” May we demand that reverse job discrimination and media bias against white males cease NOW? May we quit buying products that advertise an unfair, biased message against our men?
Organize and work or they will drain every last cent we have. These people don’t even feel the need to hide their larcenous intentions. It’s time to stand up or be rolled over. It’s time to choose whether you will be a slave or live free. It really is as simple as that.
