Do Ron PAul supporters agree with the New immigration AZ law ?

-- Key provisions of Arizona's immigration legislation, signed into law by Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer on Friday:

- Makes it a crime under state law to be in the country illegally by specifically requiring immigrants to have proof of their immigration status. Violations are a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $2,500. Repeat offenses would be a felony.

- Requires police officers to "make a reasonable attempt" to determine the immigration status of a person if there is a "reasonable suspicion" that he or she is an illegal immigrant. Race, color or national origin may not be the only things considered in implementation. Exceptions can be made if the attempt would hinder an investigation.

- Allow lawsuits against local or state government agencies that have policies that hinder enforcement of immigration laws. Would impose daily civil fines of $1,000-$5,000. There is pending follow-up legislation to halve the minimum to $500. ad_icon

- Targets hiring of illegal immigrants as day laborers by prohibiting people from stopping a vehicle on a road to offer employment and by prohibiting a person from getting into a stopped vehicle on a street to be hired for work if it impedes traffic.

- The law will take effect by late July or early August.

I am a Ron Paul supporter, and I approve of this legislation. I do wonder, though, why they used the term "reasonable suspicion" instead of "probable cause".

I can't speak for the rest of them, but I am in complete agreement with this.

And I want those of you who want to rant and rave about ethnic or racial profiling to tell me what a illegal alien looks like.

As far as that goes, give me a physical description of what an American looks like.

In the law they do use the term "probable cause".

It's here if you want to read the whole law.

You'll support him despite his positions.

This is a fine example of the twisted logic that leads sheeple like you to vote for John McLunatic and his main squeeze,Palin.

You are right. In the first case,it has always been a part of the Constitutional requirement to prove citizenship, and this law has clearly been violated.

In the second case,no law has been violated because it still hasn't happened and isn't scheduled to happen. The cops must still have probable cause to suspect someone is a illegal before they can arrest them.

All a cop has to do is "suspect" they might be illegal.

Every time I travel from Yuma AZ back to Palm Springs, I am stopped at two BP stations.

One just North West of Yuma on I-8 and the second at he BP station on Highway 78 just south of Highway 78.

Its sadly a part of our lives down here at the border.

But I understand why we have to do this.

Same for other laws. Nothing new.
