Title: Moonbats Now Claim Global Warming Causes Volcano Eruptions

You have to give the global warming moonbats some credit, they are very creative, every time something bad happens, they find away to blame it on global warming. Over the past year, these pages have recorded claims that global warming caused the heavy US snow this winter, the bitterly cold winter in Europe, the melting of the Arctic Ice Cap, a new ice age, nor'easters, violence, even even bird suicides. Lets face it, if they found a way to blame the death of Michael Jackson on global warming the would (although I understand they are still working on it).

Now they are trying to tie their warming hoax with the volcano eruptions in Iceland and other places. Their new theory is global warming is melting the glaciers, the ground is getting lighter making it easier for the magma to make it to the Earth's surface. The good news is they aren't saying that this particular eruption was caused by global warming as the glacier that sits upon the EyjafjallajökullVolcano is too tiny to make a difference

"Our work suggests that eventually there will be either somewhat larger eruptions or more frequent eruptions in Iceland in coming decades," said Freysteinn Sigmundsson, a vulcanologist at the University of Iceland.

"Global warming melts ice and this can influence magmatic systems," he told Reuters. The end of the Ice Age 10,000 years ago coincided with a surge in volcanic activity in Iceland, apparently because huge ice caps thinned and the land rose.

"We believe the reduction of ice has not been important in triggering this latest eruption," he said of Eyjafjallajokull. "The eruption is happening under a relatively small ice cap."

Carolina Pagli, a geophysicist at the University of Leeds in England, said there were risks that climate change could also trigger volcanic eruptions or earthquakes in places such as Mount Erebus in Antarctica, the Aleutian islands of Alaska or Patagonia in South America.

Here's why this particular theory doesn't make sense. According to the global warming moonbats, the ice cap over Antarctica has been been melting so quickly that soon the entire Continent is going to sell itself as a beach resort. Yet there has been no unusual increase ofvolcanic activity in Antarctica.

Researchers may believe Iceland may may be heading for more volcanic activity, but CNN's Rick Sanchez probably still believes that volcanoes can't erupt in a cold climate. On the other hand, there is no truth to the rumor that Congressman Hank Johnson is worried that the glacier melting caused by the latest eruption may cause Iceland to capsize.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that if I put a block of ice in pot of boiling tar, that is isn't going to take an SUV driving by to cause it to melt.

I was thinking maybe we should 'appease' the volcano in Iceland.

Say...throw Algore into it, as a sacrifice. Thinking about it, his fat ass just might plug the top....

The solar system is going through a part of the Milky Way that historically has produced a high incidence of volcanos and tremors on earth in the past. The theory is that it compresses and creates uneven stresses on the planets.

But the uber religious egos will think it's their favorite god fighting their enemies on their behalf.... at least until their own turf is affected.

It's the war, stupid.

I mentioned that it's a theory and it has correlation. Our solar system is not oriented to the plane of the Milky Way and wobbles through it periodically causing stresses on the solar system of which those on the magnetic properties of the planets are an integral part. These wobbles occur at fairly precise intervals.

Space.com has some articles that go into it in detail.... of course it requires a little background in basic science.

It's the war, stupid.

The earth is always aligned with the center of the Milky Way, it's what our solar system orbits when we orbit the sun. The Sun, on the other hand, has a slight variation or "wiggle" in its orbit that gives it variation as to what plane it follows. There are some who believe that this variation can cause a shift in gravity that affects seismic activity which affects the plates and thus the crust.

That belief is not widely subscribed to, btw, and IIRC< it's the underpinning to the 2012 belief.

They now believe that the solar system is not only not aligned but we are actually flying through space on our side which wobbles in and out of the plane of the Milky Way.

The sun still wiggles as do all the planets. The moon also is getting further away possibly causing changes in stresses

It's the war, stupid.
