April 8, 2010 3:15 PM ET MADISON, Wis. (AP) - An Alabama author who's spoken to white supremacists who believe slavery is ordained by god is scheduled to headline a Wausau tea party rally next week.
The scheduled appearance by John Eidsmoe at the same event where Jefferson County Circuit Judge Randy Koschnick is slated to appear has infuriated black leaders and those that monitor hate groups nationally.
Stephanie Findley is chair of the Wisconsin Democratic Party's black caucus. She says reading some of Eidsmoe's speeches sent chills down her spine.
The Southern Law Poverty Center's research director Heidi Beirich says Eidsmoe has appeared before groups with racist and anti-Semitic agendas.
Koschnick says he didn't know Eidsmoe's background and he won't appear at the event if he's a racist.
