HSBC Closing To Mean 465 Jobs Lost In Tulsa posted 04/07/10 2:55 pm producer: Kevin King * Waterline Work Closing South Yale Ave * Interstate 44 at 161st East Avenue Closing Again Tulsa - HSBC Card Services, Inc. has confirmed it will close its facility in east Tulsa by the end of September, eliminating 465 jobs. The facility is located on 129th East Avenue just north of 51st Street. Forbes Magazine lists HSBC as the World's largest banking group and sixth largest company. It has more than ten-thousand offices in 86 countries worldwide. "We greatly appreciate the dedication and contribution of our employees," said Rob Sherman, Vice President of Public Affairs for HSBC - North America. "The decision was made after careful deliberation and consideration of a range of factors, as part of our ongoing efforts to balance operating costs and staffing needs across our network." Sherman says all of the employees will have opportunities to apply for available jobs at the company's other locations.
