GOP Threatens To Remove Ron Paul From All Committee Assignments I would love to see the Republican Party try to remove the progenitor of the Tea Party movement from all his committees. They should really take a stand and do that, it’ll do wonders for the 2010 elections. According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Reps. Anh “Joseph” Cao of Louisiana and Ron Paul of Texas have joined Rep. Don Young (AK) in requesting earmarks for the 2011 fiscal year, despite a House Republican caucus vote this month to institute a moratorium on earmarks for one year. Those members’ committee assignments could be on the line, according to a spokesman for House Minority Leader John Boehner. “The Leaders expect all House Republican members to comply with the moratorium,” the spokesman, Michael Steel, said in an email. “There will be situations where we have some confusion on how these rules are implemented, but if Members are deliberately breaking the rules, it will be a serious matter and one that the Steering Committee will consider.” I cannot wait for the word back to the Tea Party community that Ron Paul just got tossed off of all his committees. I’m sure that would energize this new base. The thing is, if you listen to Paul’s spokesman, he’s pretty much right on this issue: Paul spokeswoman Rachel Mills said he thinks Washington already extracts too much money from his constituents, and “part of his job is to work hard in Washington, D.C., to get that money back to those constituents in any form that he can.” She said Paul also believes that earmarking is more transparent than the regular budget process because you know exactly where the money goes and that it doesn’t affect the total amount appropriated by one dime. Yes, this conflicts with libertarian ideology in part, but not in the whole. I don’t think almost any attention should be paid to the ridiculous earmark issue, which accounts for around 1% of the federal budget. But to the extent there is attention, Paul is correct. No earmark affects total appropriations. And failing to earmark does leave appropriations up to the federal government and the related executive agencies to determine where the money goes. The entire drama over earmarks is silly, so if it results in Ron Paul losing committee assignments and the GOP leadership having to explain that and have this debate, all the better

Party leader in the House, John Boehner, has never requested an earmark, nor accept one throw his way, in his entire careet. Its his decree the GOP will run on a platform of budget cutting, and refusing earmarks. If Ron Paul is this hypocritical and stupid, he loses. The author, like so many terrified of hundreds of thousand of average Americans exercising their Right to Assembly, misreads this so badly its almost as if it was a Brian S selected column from Huff Puff. Should Ron Paul screech 'I got an earmark and they won't let me play' the few in the Tea Party that actually listen to a part, and only a part, of what he manages to mutter coherent will throw his ass over the side so quick his pinheaad will spin. The guy can't get elected ANYWHERE outside of his curious district in Texas. GOP is going to run on the horrific economy, the doubling to tripling of the deficits under Owe-bama and the lowest rated Congress in US History led by Pelosi. Reid's already toast, the question can the GOP take that body as well. Odds are long...but with this record number of employed Americans, its going to be a long long hot summer. Toss in another 2 million foreclosures, no new job creation within the private sector, you have a landslide that could EXCEED Reagan. It doesn't take brilliant strategy. It doesn't even require a brilliant leader. It requires exactly what Owe-bama, Pelosi and Reid have guaranteed. Massive alienation of the voters. Check that off as done.

The problem with the horrorific economy and all horrorific economies from 1913 on is the FARO RESERVE BANK. I call it this because the Fed manipulates our money supply like a Faro dealer in 1881 maniupulated his dealing box and deck. The result is ALL inflations, depressions and recessions that have occured since the first wave of "Progressive" legislation in America in the 1900 to 1913 era. Ron Paul is the ONLY Congressman that I know of who on record for getting rid of this EVIL institution of the FARO RESERVE BANK and replacing it with an honest monetary system. McCain never puts in for earmarks either but his fellow Az pubby Senator Kyle more than makes up for it. They all scratch each other's backs.
Oh come on.... the US treasury is there to be mined and if one doesn't sponsor at least a half dozen bills enabling that to be done then one isn't considered a congressman in good standing.
What about that Hayworth guy? I think he's got a shot. He might be a retard...
McCain should be the one getting stripped of all this committee positions, hopefully Hayworth will be the one to get that done.

Repeated grammar and spelling errors can be very revealing. Since Boehner's so squeaky earmark clean, that must mean he has another congressperson doing his dirty work. And/or that is the only issue the Pubbies have to run on. LOLOL

I don't give a flying fig who the new speaker is just as long as he or she is willing to at least have the FARO RESERVE BANK audited and thereby PROVE the crooked, treasonous, "Progressive", bloody handed, institution that it is.
