Look...it is very simple...Oswald gets Russian language and lifestyle training from the CIA ..defects...presumably betrays state secrets at the height of the Cold War but suffers 0 consequences for doing so. Those who worked for ONI and the CIA were right wing? Who knew. But I do know that identity politics wasn't as sharply honed in the early sixties as it has been in the last 20 years.
