Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) sends an email to his Campaign for Liberty list keying off of (though not explicitly citing) Jonathan Martin’s report on neoconservative Republicans fundraising to defeat his son, Kentucky Senate candidate Rand Paul. “The Neo-Conservatives are running scared,” writes Paul. “They are ramping up their attack machine and pushing every dime they can to Rand’s opponent.” Going slightly off of Rand’s message — he’s been very successful convincing conservative voters that he’s not going to become a rabid anti-war vote in the Senate — Ron promises supporters that his son will “vote against undeclared wars.” The email: Dear Supporter, Sunday, Government rammed the Health Care bill down our throats. But today is a new day. Today is the day we tell Washington once and for all that we suffer their abuses no longer. Today is the day we start the journey to reclaim our health freedom. Today is the day we come together to send the strongest Constitutional Conservative we have seen in a generation to the United States Senate. My son Rand is winning his race for United States Senate. He is up in the polls and has a strong plan in place that will take him to victory. That is, IF he has the money he needs to fully fund it. The Neo-Conservatives are running scared. Great example of why Ron Paul can't win a race for dog catcher outside of his odd district. DEMOCRATS, Liberal ones at that, gave us nationalized healthcare. But kook in chief Ron Paul attacks mythical creatures, akin to the unicorn in this Congress...not the Liberal Democrats that produced this insanity he's against. Ron Paul.
