Did you hear about the tragedy of Coach Dixon's sister a few years ago? She was coach of the West Point/USMA women's basketball team...got them into the NCAA tournament for their first time ever...and in the off season died of some sort of heart failure...I'm pretty sure she was in her 30s...totally unexpected and a shocker to all.
I guess you figured out I'm not a fan of hockey. I remember from my teenage days hearing stats such as so and so has 58 stitches in his head and eight knocked out teeth...ugh!
A lot of good memories of 3 Rivers include sitting up in Peanut Heaven...I had stolen a good slug of Cutty Sark from my dad and put it into an empty Maxim jar. I went there with a buddy of mine, Dave Varley, rest his soul - a career Marine - whom we called, for reasons I still don't know, "Cuss". By the third inning we were fucking hammered. He set the bottom fringe of my jeans [in 1973 you fringed the bottoms of your bell bottom jeans] on fire and nearly my whole leg went up. About the fifth inning, he was doing the Bozo roll and puked his guts out sitting right in the seat. I laughed so fucking hard I nearly fell down to the lower levels.
