The Left's War On Christians Title: "'Pack the Bags, We're Going on a Guilt Trip'—the Secret to the Democrats' Success" If you grew up in a red state, and had conservative parents, and had friends who thought that woke meant you got out of bed in the morning, then you might not cotton to what Im going to say. To wit, the Democrat party has used guilt as an incredibly effective weapon for generations, and its only with the advent of Donald Trump that were seeing all sorts of people saying, Im not falling for it anymore. Dont say that, or you are racist, or anti-trans, or dont care about marginalized peopleor youre, of course, a white supremacist. How dare you criticize our lawless cities, why arent you thinking of the sad upbringing of the criminal? Why arent you thinking about the environment when you take a shower, why are you having kids when the planet is in peril, and why are you criticizing the inhuman Hamas slaughter and rape of over a thousand Israelis on Oct. 7 when there are Gazans suffering as a result of their savagery? You might laugh and say, I dont feel guilty; to hell with them. But the ruse has been remarkably effective, and has led to the demise of California under uber-wokester Gavin Newsom, the almost ruination of our country under the feckless anti-American former president, Joe Biden, and the decline of most of our major cities as they descend into dystopian relics of what they once were. Have compassion, they say. But their compassionwhich is in reality tolerance for bad behavior and deteriorationhas led us to where we are today. Pack the bags, were going on a guilt trip, actor Charlie Sheen once said in a movie. No, Im not going to discuss his troubles at this time it was a good line, well-delivered: It may not work on you, as I said, but its worked on hundreds of millions of Americans, and its a major reason why progressivism has almost destroyed our nation. Why else but guilt and compassion would a once-proud beacon of our country like California toleratenay, endorse over 120,000 people sleeping on its streets on any given night? Why would we let New York City be plagued by criminals who have been caught and arrested five, ten, twelve times, yet are still roaming around as free as birds? Because if you said, lock them up and throw the key in the East River, youd be guilty of so many thought-crimes intolerance, elitism, nativism, America First-ism, you name it. I did not grow up in a red state, and I have been surrounded by leftists my entire life. The New York Times was something to be reveredit came each morning, and the newsprint smelled wonderful, and the pages were filled with news of the world, and there were dashing reporters with cool names like R.W. Apple who brought you all the news that was fit to print. I grew up in Chicago, New York City, then went to Boston for school. A virtual tour of Democrat politics. But I defied expectations and went to North Carolina for collegea place in Durham called Duke, which was not nearly so esteemed (or woke) as it is now, or I can guarantee I would never have been accepted. As a young graduate, I moved to Los Angeles, because it seemed like The Dreamand you know what? It was. It was a wonderful place to live; a vibrant, exciting city that was everything I thought it was going to be. But then they ruined it. At some point, Im not sure when, I realized I was different. I was gay. No, I kidbut becoming a conservative in a blue area is the new gay. In a place like LA, where I had to think about my kids and their futures, it was best to stay closeted. The intolerance is real, and it is harsh, and the penalty is cancellation. Ive paid a price for coming out: "True Confessions of a RedState Writer on Our 20th Birthday" I joke with my wife, who as an unabashed conservative, legal immigrant, and Chair of the LA GOP who has given me the strength to speak outthat I have two angels sitting on my shoulders as I write. One, the red guy, says, Say it! You know you think it. The blue one, on my left shoulder, of course, says, You cant say that! Itll hurt somebodys feelings! What do you mean, you dont believe in DEI? Are you racist? How can you say trans dudes shouldnt play in womens sportswhat about our friends in the Community?! When I first joined RedState, I debated at length whether to use my name. I decided yes, its time to stand for what I believeblue angel be damned. The blue angel has brought nothing but misery, decline and tragedy to our country, all in the name of compassion and guilt. I dont believe in cults of personality, and I think Donald Trump is just a man, a human, with flaws like any other. That being said, he has brought a change that I could only dream of on that horrible morning when I woke up to the news that Joe Biden had miraculously won the presidential election despite the fact that he was behind when most people went to bed. We paid a heavy price for that. Much of that loss can be attributed to guilt and faux compassionwere killing the planet, were racists, we dont care about the downtroddenbut that house of cards is now falling. Real compassion means caring for the law-abiding citizens, making sure our children are safe on the streets, managing our resources in an effective manner, and not allowing human tragedy to occur at our southern border on a daily basis. Its time for adult reasoning to carry the day, instead of allowing the stoned college-freshman-like wide-eyed ideology of Nancy Pelosi, Gavin Newsom, Chuck Schumer, Tim Walz and Kamala Harris et. al. to run amok. Weve seen what theyve wrought, and its time to kick their Guilt Philosophy and its systemic failures to the curb, once and for all. Editors Note: The Democrat Party has never been less popular as voters reject its globalist agenda. Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread |
