Army-Navy Football Game Attendees Face Hotel Cancellations Due to Housing Migrants Oct 4, 2023
Boston, MA – October 4, 2023 (yourNEWS) – Several U.S. military veterans and their families planning to attend the upcoming Army Vs. Navy college football game are facing disruptions as their hotel reservations have been canceled to make room for migrants arriving in the country.
Set to occur on December 9 at the New England Patriots’ home field in Foxborough, Massachusetts, the game holds significant importance for the attendees. However, at least 70 individuals have been informed by three separate hotels that their reservations have been canceled, raising concerns about their safety and questioning the temporary housing of migrants who recently entered the country illegally.
A travel agent assisting military families stated, “For many, the issue is safety… they are questioning the safety of remaining hotels located near those that are now filled with migrants.” Hotels in the area are working on safety protocols and are facing challenges accommodating the influx of both migrants and game attendees.
Giri Hotel Management, responsible for Foxboro’s Comfort Inn hotel, confirmed housing “refugees” who recently arrived in America. The VP of Marketing for the management company stated, “We are delighted to confirm that we are indeed taking refugees at our hotels… By providing shelter to refugees, we aim to be part of a global community that stands together in support of those in need.”
The Army-Navy football game, a sold-out event, brings significant revenue to the local area. However, the influx of migrants might impact the number of attendees, raising concerns among residents and officials.
Criticism has been voiced by political figures, with GOP Florida Governor Ron DeSantis stating, “When I am president, the days of putting illegal aliens over Americans will be over,” highlighting the frustration among many about the prioritization of migrants over veterans and citizens.
Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) also expressed concerns, asking, “Why does the Left care more about illegal immigrants than our veterans?” The situation underscores the challenges faced by cities due to open-border policies and calls into question the impact of such decisions on local communities.
