France: Illegals Enjoy Higher Welfare Benefits and Living Standards than Citizens

September 24, 2023

Open borders France has emerged as the most appealing destination for illegal migrants worldwide, mainly due to its comprehensive social assistance programs. Recent reports suggest that, in many cases, migrants living in France receive higher levels of social support, including allowances and housing, than native French citizens.

French news channel CNews highlighted the stark disparity in social assistance between migrants and native citizens, shedding light on the controversial issue of migrants receiving preferential treatment over tax-paying citizens in need of help. The report emphasized that France allocates approximately 744 euros per month per migrant, which often surpasses the support received by individuals in the native lower-income bracket, including those receiving universal basic income.

This revelation has ignited fervent discussions surrounding the imperative to diminish France’s allure as a migrant destination, coupled with growing calls to exert pressure on the French government to prioritize its own citizens and employ more stringent border control measures.

One suggested solution to address this issue is to work with third countries to externalize the management of immigration. This approach involves partnering with other nations to handle immigration processes outside of France’s borders. While this idea presents its own challenges, some countries have already expressed willingness to explore such arrangements. For example, Rwanda has agreed to collaborate with the United Kingdom on this front, indicating that international cooperation may hold the key to managing immigration more effectively.

The discourse surrounding France’s social assistance system for illegal migrants mirrors the larger worldwide conversation on immigration policies, encompassing their far-reaching social, economic, and political ramifications. It underscores the imperative for nations to reevaluate their border controls and prioritize the welfare of their citizens.

The following is taken from FAIR. It is based on a count of 15.5 million illegal aliens plus 5.4 million of their children. IMO, these are low ball numbers. They have been reporting for decades that there are only 10-12 million illegals in the country. Millions upon millions have been let in the last few years-by some accounts 6-7 million and some reports show 10 million during this present administration alone.

FAIR

The Cost of Illegal Immigration to the United States

At the federal, state, and local levels, taxpayers shell out approximately $182 billion to cover the costs incurred from the presence of more than 15.5 million illegal aliens, and about 5.4 million citizen children of illegal aliens. That amounts to a cost burden of approximately $8,776 per illegal alien/citizen child. The burden of illegal immigration on U.S. taxpayers is both staggering and crippling, with the gross cost per taxpayer at $1,156 every year.

Illegal aliens only contribute roughly $32 billion in taxes at the state, local, and federal levels. This means that the net fiscal cost of illegal immigration to taxpayers totals approximately $150.7 billion.

In 2017, FAIR estimated the net cost of illegal immigration at approximately $116 billion. This means that in just 5 years, the cost of illegal immigration has increased by nearly $35 billion. This rapid increase is a consequence of the ongoing border crisis and a lack of effective immigration enforcement. The sections below further break down and explain these numbers at the federal, state, and local levels.
