President Biden, who has never taught a single semester-long course at the University of Pennsylvania, mused on Thursday about when he used to “teach political theory” at the Ivy League school.

“Our democracy is under attack, and we got to fight for it,” Biden, 80, said during a speech at Maryland’s Prince George’s Community College.

He lies like he breathes. He never cared, and now he's so senile he doesn't even know what's true or not.

They do. It's corrupt and corrosive.

This does not mean, however, that the Right is pure and virtuous. Biden and the 77% of Democrats who support our war efforts in the Ukraine are right. So are the 42% of the Republicans who understand the need for it.

But that 58% of Republicans who oppose aid to Ukraine have lost the plot, and their media - which isn't a RAT media - is as deceptive and foolish as the RAT media.

Fact is, it is right or us to stop Russia cold in Ukraine, and threaten China with war if they invade Taiwan (and then fight them if they do - the fact of the threat means they won't).

That isn't Democrat or Republican, it's common sense, but Biden is right on this, and the Right wing media and opponents are dead wrong - they are as wrong, really as shortsighted and stupid as the Republicans who opposed aiding the allies and fighting Hitler in World War II, right up until he declared war on us and started sinking our ships right off of Cape Cod and Montauk.

Yes, Biden's a liar, and the media are his stooges. But he's still right on something very huge: the war and national security, and the Republican opponents are every bit as bad as Biden on everything else when it comes to this. And war is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, because defense is the BIGGEST part of the budget, year after year after year.

If you crush Russia NOW, that expense can go way down, year after year. But if you don't, we will have ever greater expenses in years to come, because the threat will be that much worse, and our allies - united in the defense of Ukraine - would be crestfallen, divide, and our whole alliance system would fall to pieces if we fail now.

This is not just another issue. It, alone, is more important than all of the other Biden and Democrat things. Get THIS wrong, and Biden has to win re-election.

So how about just getting it right? How about Republican isolationists pull their heads out of their asses, understand that they are wrong, shortsighted (I won't say it, but yeah, stupid), and STOP BEING SUICIDALLY STUPID. Support the war - and support making the war FASTER. Biden slow walks F-16s. As Republicans we should be speeding that up! Crush the Russians FASTER.

Do THAT, and all of a sudden every issue, including the Alpha issue, is on the Republican side. But this Senator holding up the appointments of the generals and admirals and other officers over what? Abortion? Seriously?

Republicans are reverting to the stupidity of the 1930s. That is not a winning strategy.

Biden is a senile old fool. His party are self-interested partisans. The media are corrupt Democratic cheerleaders. And yet they still have to win if the Republicans are going to shoot us in the head regarding Russia. Beating Russia is more important than EVERY OTHER THING in the Republican agenda. It's a trillion dollars a year in defense spending saved.

So, yeah, the Democrats are bad. But its the Republicans who are walking into Crazyville with this opposition to the Ukraine. They need to STOP IT.

If they DON'T stop it, they're going to end up being the Wendell Wilkies of 2023 and onward. Being soft on Hitler cost the Republicans 50 years of power. Being soft on Putin is going to cost them another 50 years.

COME ON, GUYS. Be smarter.

Former VA Governor Jim Gilmore is one of the handful of politicians I have met on multiple occasions and talked to personally, and I have always respected him and his opinions. He eventually became a foreign policy "expert" and now espouses beliefs very similar to your own on his weekly calls into our local AM-1140 talk show hosts. However, he doesn't seem to have any sort of plan--or even desire--to bring these hostilities to a conclusion. We are making a bee-line towards World War III, and folks are being branded as Pro-Russia for seeking any sort of peaceful resolution prior to a time where America's sons and daughters are forced to shed their blood in Ukraine, Russia, and who know's where else?

Putin is a dangerous dictator, no argument there. But NATO and our State Department are far from blameless. When the Soviet Union was allowed to implode by Gorbachev on 26 December 1991, it was under an understanding that NATO would not absorb the Soviet satellite nations...

"NATO Expansion: What Gorbachev Heard"

Declassified documents show security assurances against NATO expansion to Soviet leaders from Baker, Bush, Genscher, Kohl, Gates, Mitterrand, Thatcher, Hurd, Major, and Woerner.
Slavic Studies Panel Addresses “Who Promised What to Whom on NATO Expansion?”

Washington D.C., December 12, 2017 – U.S. Secretary of State James Baker’s famous “not one inch eastward” assurance about NATO expansion in his meeting with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev on February 9, 1990, was part of a cascade of assurances about Soviet security given by Western leaders to Gorbachev and other Soviet officials throughout the process of German unification in 1990 and on into 1991, according to declassified U.S., Soviet, German, British and French documents posted today by the National Security Archive at George Washington University (http://nsarchive.gwu.edu).

The documents show that multiple national leaders were considering and rejecting Central and Eastern European membership in NATO as of early 1990 and through 1991, that discussions of NATO in the context of German unification negotiations in 1990 were not at all narrowly limited to the status of East German territory, and that subsequent Soviet and Russian complaints about being misled about NATO expansion were founded in written contemporaneous memcons and telcons at the highest levels.

The documents reinforce former CIA Director Robert Gates’s criticism of “pressing ahead with expansion of NATO eastward [in the 1990s], when Gorbachev and others were led to believe that wouldn’t happen.”[1] The key phrase, buttressed by the documents, is “led to believe.”

President George H.W. Bush had assured Gorbachev during the Malta summit in December 1989 that the U.S. would not take advantage (“I have not jumped up and down on the Berlin Wall”) of the revolutions in Eastern Europe to harm Soviet interests; but neither Bush nor Gorbachev at that point (or for that matter, West German Chancellor Helmut Kohl) expected so soon the collapse of East Germany or the speed of German unification. I think we need to recognize that both Russia and China have been invaded and devastated by foreign neighbors within living memory, so their "paranoia" about being encircled by NATO members does hit home with the corresponding populaces. Only piss-poor statesmanship and a hyperactive Military Industrial Complex has led US to this, and if we stay on this course, I think WWIII is all but inevitable.

We’ll, there it is. No, we don’t need to recognize shit about Russia and China being invaded. Guess what? France have been invaded twice in the same period. England was bombed flat. Japan and Hitler attacked us too. And it was Ukraine, not Russia, that bore the brunt of Workd War Two, from both the Nazis AND Stalin.

I have no patience at all for this line of logic. None.
