To: Charles_Byrd (#0) Seems odd that a Baptist school is closing when Christians are looking for options to the indoctrination found in secular schools. Not knowing anything about this school, and not finding any satisfactory explanations as to why they are closing, I had to go looking. The school's "Religious affiliation" is with American Baptist Churches USA... The ABCUSA has consistently allowed each congregation to determine whether or not to perform same-sex marriages, or ordain LGBT clergy. The ABCUSA General Board voted in 2005 to amend the declaration We are American Baptists to define marriage as "between one man and one woman" and maintain that "the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Biblical teaching." However, the denomination has never officially adopted the board's statement, and has also stated "We respect and will continue to respect congregational freedom on this issue". (Wiki) The ABCUSA is well known for their "wavering", and this does not play well under the heading "Baptist". The ABCUSA on their wiki page go out of their way to announce their separation from the Conservative Baptist Association and the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches... I don't have to look any further when it comes to understanding their financial woes. They're woke, and they're broke. School closed.
