Title: ‘You Are All One’? Eastern Orthodoxy and the Struggle of Ethnic Christianity

In mid-January, a large cohort of Eastern Orthodox theologians — nearly 400, from 44 countries — gathered in Volos, Greece. It was the largest conference of Orthodox theologians in modern history.

At the center of discussion were theological questions stirred up by the Russia-Ukraine War.

that our ultimate identity, that the church, rests not in Germany, not in America, not in our heritage, our songs, our liturgy, our history or our piety, as salutary as any of these things may be — but in Jesus Christ, in whom “there is neither Jew nor Greek,” in whom “you are all one” (Gal. 3:28).

Orthodoxy is trending here in the U.S.

Evangelicals are abandoning their clown show churches for a different experience and I can't say that I blame them entirely (even though they are entirely wrong before God).

"When Sarah Riccardi-Swartz moved from New York City to a small Appalachian town in West Virginia in the fall of 2017, she was searching for an answer to a puzzling question. Why had a group of conservative American Christians converted to Russian Orthodoxy...Riccardi-Swartz learned that many of these converts had grown disillusioned with social and demographic change in the United States". https://www.npr.org/2022/05/10/1096741988/orthodox-christian-churches- are-drawing-in-far-right-american-converts

My take is this: it's always easier to move to another church than it is to diagnose and fix the problem. Moving to Orthodoxy is not the answer. They're just going to find the same problem, but dressed in robes and dead tradition.

Orthodox churches are just as vomited out of the Lord's mouth as the dead evangelical churches in America, or any other country.

Stick a fork in us...we're done. Come quickly, Lord!

The issue I have with Orthodoxy is that the Russian church is an appendage of the Kremlin and the other bodies are either just Universalist Untitarians with "smells and bells" or just too full of woo woo mysticism.

Yep. A state religion if ever there was one.

At the end of the day, the Orthodox are just another Marian cult.

From Wiki...

The perpetual virginity of Mary is a Christian doctrine that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was a virgin "before, during and after" the birth of Christ. In Western Christianity, the Catholic Church adheres to the doctrine, as do some Lutherans, Anglicans, Reformed, and other Protestants. Shenouda III, Pope of the Coptic Orthodox Church, affirmed the teaching, and Eastern Orthodox churches recognize Mary as Aeiparthenos, meaning "ever-virgin".

Those leaving Protestant churches for Orthodoxy say, "Oh no, the Orthodox are different from Catholics"...but, really, they aren't.

Here's another area where Protestants always get it wrong.

The city of London openly celebrates that they were founded by Gog and Magog, so it isn't Russia, it is NATO (Nations Against The Orthodox) which openly marches behind Gog and Magog.

LOL, people are flooding to the Orthodox Church, especially the Russian Orthodox Church, because world events have made it clear that Protestantism is just a made-up religion used to justify literally anything, including being faggots and pedophiles.

youtu.be/WCfeRdCM21Y?si=Zk7h_jeGx7s27V-Y

As Orthodoxy grows in Russia, they will arrest homos and pedophiles, while American Protestant Churches are at the front of having gay "marriages" and promoting every perversion imaginable.

Orthodox Russia castrates pedophiles while Protestant America castrates little boys and tells them that they are really little girls. People see this and they see the end-result of Protestantism.

So thanks be to God, they abandon these dead man-made "churches" of the Protestant world and return home to the original Church founded by Jesus Christ through His Apostles, the Orthodox Church.

You say funny stuff.

I will give you this...the churches are fallen away and have been for decades. They are vomited out of the Lord's mouth, and they are sickening to behold. And you are quite right about the knee-jerk worship of Israel, especially by evangelicals (I am dispensational, evangelical btw). Their error is going to cost them dearly, namely the pale horse rider and following judgements of Revelation.

But know this: the orthodox church, like the catholic church, is dead state religion. Will the orthodox join with the beast system to behead true Christians? Probably.

Nope, if your modern man-made denomination is not already doing it, within 10-20 years it will also be performing gay "marriages" and grooming children to be molested.

The whole reason why the West is at war with Russia is because Orthodox Christian Russia refuses to let the homo pedos come molest their kids like it is now commonplace in America among the Protestants.

Here's another PERFECT example.

Even in AMERICA, when parents protest against the faggots, it almost always turns out that the parents are Orthodox, because Protestants are all in for the homo pedophiles.

Here's a protest from Glendale California where some real Christian men beat up some Protestant homos. They were all Armenian Orthodox Christians, because even in America it's almost always just the Orthodox standing up for what is right while the Protestants just stick their fingers in the wind to see which way it's blowing today.

Does your man-made denomination already perform gay "marriages" or is that still somewhere in the near future for it?

the Orthodox standing up for what is right

This is an article from orthochristiandotcom:

CLERGY, SCHOLARS, LGBT ACTIVISTS, DRAG SHOW HOST GATHER TO DISCUSS OPINIONS ON ORTHODOXY, SEX, GENDER, SEXUALITY

The conference featured many of the same participants who had gathered at the conference in Amsterdam in June 2017, including Drs. George Demacopoulos and Aristotle Papanikolaou of Fordham and Dr. Brendan Gallaher of Exeter University.

Also participating were several figures who have caused public scandals, such as Sister Vassa Larin, who was censured by ROCOR for giving advice to a mother that would lead her to believe that her son's interest in a homosexual relationship is acceptable, and Metropolitan Kallistos Ware, who called the Church’s teachings on matters of sexuality into question in a foreword he wrote for an issue of the pro- homosexual journal The Wheel.

Also present were Dr. Ashley Purpura, who argues that Byzantine hymnography “reflects gender fluidity,” Gregory Tucker, who is in a homosexual relationship with a former hieromonk who abandoned his priesthood and repentance, and Nik Jov i-Sas, a Serbian man who openly mocks the Church and goes by the name of “Orthodox Provocateur” online and whose social media pages are filled with photos and videos of drag queens, including from drag shows he has hosted. There were also several others who either publicly or privately, often in their university classes, agitate for the Church to change its teachings on LGBT issues.

I didn't notice anybody getting beaten up at this orthodox fag gathering.

You find a tiny handful of western academics trying to masquerade as Orthodox.

They met in Amsterdam, why there?

If faggotry was accepted by Orthodox like it is by Protestant America, why did they not have their 3 person "conference" in Moscow or Athens?

Here is a mainstream Orthodox preacher. The Patriarch of the Georgian Orthodox Church invited him to speak at an official Church event to warn the Orthodox that if they let American Protestants have their way that the homos will be trying to groom their children to be gay.

Did you start screaming in rage at this clip? Are you at this very moment clinging to your "boyfriend" and weeping "Love is Love!!" ?

LOL, you are probably dumb enough to believe that Jesus Christ and His Apostles walked around in 20th century American 3-piece suits and carried KJV Bibles that had fallen into their hands from out of the sky.

Orthodox Christian worship looks like the worship described in the Bible, while Protestant "worship" varies from looking like a college lecture delivered at a Marxist Gay-Rights college or a lame "I found Jesus and lost my talent" "rock concert" right before they have a Protestant gay "wedding".

Biblical worship looks like this:

"Around the throne were twenty-four thrones; and upon the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white garments, and golden crowns on their heads....the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne."

And elsewhere in Revelation, there are candlesticks, incense, etc.

That is Biblical worship, and that is what Orthodox do.

Who is the little poindexter who thinks he can evaluate which Scriptures are "real" and which "are not"?

It sounds like a typical Protestant, who while claiming to be Sola Scriptura will throw out entire Books of the Bible if they say things he doesn't like.

The Sermon on the Mount was a sermon.

Protestants are so far divorced from Biblical worship that they think listening to a sermon is worship.

Jesus explained in his sermons what real worship is, and the Bible says that some immediately left, like modern Protestants do who do not believe His own words about the Lord's Supper.

"Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. This is the bread which came down from heaven—not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.”"

And the Bible itself tells us that people can listen to sermons by Jesus Christ Himself and still be so blind as to not see Him.

Their eyes were only opened when they received the Eucharist.

"And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs. And they talked together of all these things which had happened. And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. But their eyes were holden that they should not know him. And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad? And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days? And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him. But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done. Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre; And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive. And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.

Jesus Explains the Prophecies

Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further. But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them. And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon. And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread."

Quite true.

Protestants like to put on quite a show and pretend that they are Christians, but at the first chance they switch around and are ordaining women as pastors and holding gay "marriages".

That is a direct lie.

The Orthodox Church does not hold conferences with gays.

You finding 3 homo activists claiming to be Orthodox when at least one of them from your quote had already been EXCOMMUNICATED from the Church is not evidence of Orthodoxy supporting the Protestant Homo agenda.

Your "Church" is completely man-made. It was created well over a thousand years after the real Church was founded and it has no historical connection whatsoever with the real original Church.

You can read in the Bible itself that Jesus ordained His Apostles by laying his hands upon them and breathing on them. That is Apostolic Succession.

All of my Bishops have a direct historical connection to the Apostles ordained by Jesus Christ Himself.

Your "Church" has no such thing. It was founded in Europe or America probably within the last century by some Bubba just picking up a Bible and deciding that he could just declare himself to be the head of a Church.

It is dead in every measure.

While hordes of people are being brought into the Orthodox Church in record numbers, almost all of the dead fake Protestant "Churches" are empty as more and more people leave your dead "Church".

And on the more important spiritual measure, Our Lord Himself pronounced you dead. If you do not eat His flesh and drink His blood, you have no life in you!

And so you rage in dead impotence, while Orthodoxy rejoices!

I've never said that the KJV is trash.

I have encountered, however, lots of Protestants with absolutely crazy and ignorant opinions about the KJV.

It is of course, an English TRANSLATION of the Bible, but I have met tons of Protestants who were so fucking dumb that they thought that the KJV was the original Bible "just like Jesus had".

In connection to that, I've encountered plenty of Protestant dumbasses who shout out their idiocy and don't even realize how fucking stupid they reveal themselves to be.

A classic one is on more than one occasion I've had some Protestant try to tell me that his pastor Joe Bob with a year of Greek study at some Baptist Bible College can explain to Greek Orthodox Christians (who have spoken Greek from birth) what the Biblical Greek "really means".

ROTFLOL.
