April 5, 2023: Seventy-six percent (76%) of voters say that the main problem with government finances is that the government spends too much. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that just 17% say the main problem is that the government doesn't receive enough money. The survey also found that 62% of voters think taxes these days are higher than they normally have been. Twenty-five percent say they are at about the same level, and just 7% say they are lower than normal.
