Jackson Memorial Hospital will need to eliminate nearly 1,000 positions, through attrition, cutting vacant jobs, and layoffs, President and CEO Eneida Roldan announced Tues. Sources close to Dr. Roldan also say she is considering shutting down the ER at Jackson South to help cut costs, but she does vow to protect patient care, and says the focus must be on the future.
